Best way to transfer reservation to another DVC member?

I have friends who purchased resale DVC and were waiting to get their points. Those points would arrive too late for them to book their ideal room and dates. So, I used my points to reserve the rooms on their behalf.

It would be ideal to transfer the reservation to them, on their account, on their points. I assume this will be tricky. What is the best option?

1) The sure thing would be name them as guests on my stay.
Then, they transfer their points to me as reimbursement. However, I have read that transferred points are difficult to work with and I'd rather not have them.

2) Same as above, but rather than transfer points, I 'rent' them my points at the going rate, and then they rent their points via DVC Rental Store to recoup the money.
Despite how easy it is, as new members, I don't think they'd want to dive into renting out their points.

3) We call Member Services on a conference call.
I assume we can't transfer reservations between users. Instead, I'd cancel mine and they rebook them... hoping no one scoops the rooms for the 5-minutes they are publicly available.

4) We do the same as above but online. We coordinate at 3am for me to drop the reservation on the website and they pick it up... again hoping no one else is online to scoop it up.

Is a reservation transfer possible? Is there a better way?

Thanks in advance.

You can not transfer a reservation made on one membership to another membership.

So, the options left are dealing with a transfer, the rentals, or the three way call and hoping that the waitlist or someone else doesn't snag the room you booked before they can get it booked.

Thanks for the replies. I didn't think of the Wait List goblin snatching things 24/7.
I was trying to catch my own reservation recently. I dropped July 1-5 on a walk and wanted to pick it up as a separate reservation. I dropped July 1-5 at 4:00am and when I went to rebook only July 1-4 were available. So the waitlist ate one of the days I dropped. I would not go the dropping rebooking route as it’s very unpredictable what the waitlist goblin will do.
