Here's the thing, folks: I've been at WDW for my birthday many times and my poor, December-born older sister never has. I've also seen WDW lit up for the holidays. Ditto on big sis missing out.
My sister loves Christmas a lot. She used to insist on having a separate birthday party on the 24th with no Christmas things, but now she fully embraces that she was born on Christmas Eve. She is thrilled to be planning her first time seeing WDW decked out for the holidays this December! It is going to be me, my sister, her husband, and her daughter. (I have gone on several vacations with her family. Mary Poppins once asked me if I was the nanny, and when my niece corrected her, said, "Oh, the unpaid nanny!")
So this trip is going to be really special. But I want it to be as special as it can be. I want to surprise my sister with some really awesome gift basket/balloons/birthday surprise waiting for us in our room.
I know Disney florist does things like this, but I was thinking I might ask a CM friend to let me send them a gift and money for balloons, and have them deliver it. My question is, will they actually be allowed to take the gift/balloons to the room? If I include a birthday banner, is it possible to have someone hang it up? Is it possible to have something waiting for us for the first time we walk in the room?
I would love to hear any experience anyone has with things like this. While I was a CM for two years, I never worked at a resort.
