Best way to search availability for spring break stay?

We are planning to visit the last week of March but now there is very limited availability when I search for a resort. Mainly looking for Epcot and MK resort and will do a split stay if necessary. Is there a certain time frame a week or two before when people start changing plans and canceling their rooms that I should start looking? Should I check online daily at a certain time? Or is it just easier to call and let a cast member search for me?

Yeah it's easier to call. You can certainly accomplish the same thing by yourself, but they can quickly tell you when the open dates are and piece together a split stay for you as well as inform you of any discounts.

You can definitely call or just start plugging in dates for a split. I'm not sure exactly which dates you are looking at, but I just searched March 23 - 26 and found BCV and then plugged in March 27 - March 30 and found BLT and GF. Not cheap though! On the Marriott site, both Swan and Dolphin have availability for that entire week as well.
