Best way to make reservations??

I was wondering if it is better to call on the telephone or book online when making reservations??

And does anyone know if there is an 800 number when calling WDW and making reservations??

I called this past weekend and again yesterday. I also looked online. I don't think there is a penny's difference in pricing and it appears that booking online allows you to specify pretty much everything you want except I don't remember seeing anywhere that you can request a specific loop. So, if you don't have any special requests, booking online should be just as good as calling.

Oh, one thing I did notice that was different: When I booked over the phone, I was asked for a $200 deposit. That amount appears to be a flat amount no matter how long or how much your reservation is for. I got all the way to the last screen online and it seemed to only require a percentage of the total as a deposit. For example, it showed me a deposit amount of about $85 dollars online but on the phone, I had to give $200. It didn't really matter to me because I have to pay it all eventually before I arrive anyway. But, if the lower deposit will help you, go for it online.

Just read the other response. I book "room only" and so am required to only give a one-night deposit.

Room only reservations by phone require only 1 nights stay as deposit, remainder payable at time of check in, cancellation with refund up to 5 days prior to arrival.

Not sure what you guys mean by "room only" but, all I booked was a campsite for 8 nights (no park tix, DDP, etc.). I was still asked for a $200 deposit. The number I called, though, wasn't an 800 number.

I will just call 407 WDISNEY. If I can't get my reserevations that way I will try the Internet. On two different occasions I have been able to pull up reservations on my computer that the operator (whom I was on the phone with at the time) showed no availability. Her explanation was that the website is often updated quicker than their system. Another tip is to try constantly on the Internet. I tried about every half-hour for about four hours and was able to get the entire week of Thanksgiving just three weeks ahead of time. I had to make four different reservations to get it, but fater I did I called them with the confimation numbers and was able to combine them and was credtied for the individual deposits that I had previously made.
