We always have park hopper tickets and love to hope form one park to the other. Up until this point we have always used Disney Transporation to hop. I think I have read that it was quicker and easier to hop from park to park in your own car. What are your thoughts???

Depends on where you can park, the time of day you "hop", which parks are involved, and the general crowd-levels.

Everything is "relative".

Our family has always hopped via our own car. It is so much faster then Disney Transportation. We always stop at the McDonald's onsite, grab quick bite and stop at our hotel to either relax at the pool or sleep for a little while, freshen up and off to the next park. :cool1:

We have always hopped, different parks in am as pm. We have never used our car or rented one, we rely on Disney transportation. I've seen the parking lots trying to empty and its just an endless stream of red taillights. There is no way we would want to be stuck in that mess to save, 10 minutes or more. And at the price of gas this summer, we're consolidating alot of not needed trips and errands around home.

When I go on vacation, we picked Disney since 1977 and over 34 visits, I like the convenience of not having to drive, find a parking spot and then fine the car again, plus the heat inside the car till the A/C catches up and all the roads in Disney to learn. Also now you have to contend with the traffic of a million other guests thinking they know where they are going in the dark and all the Disney buses. To me its not worth the aggravation , we sit back and let Disney chaffeur us around, its free and speedy.

I have hopped using a car and depending on the day its not that bad. Although at night it is so hard to get out after the fireworks. You seriously sit in your car for a good 20 minutes. I find the disney transportation just so much easier, especially after a long day in the parks when all you want to do is just take a nap or spend the afternoon at the pool. Its really entirely up to what you plan on doing and how much time you want to spend driving.

Ditto. We always use Disney Transportation. Never have a problem. It is nice not having to drive anywhere on vaca. :cool1: :cool1:

We've always hopped using Disney Transportation too. However, with a little one :hyper: , we'll usually go to one park in the morning, swing by our room for a short rest and then go to a different park for the late afternoon and evening visit. Love staying on site for many reasons and this is just one of them :woohoo:

We also park hop via Disney transportation. When I am on vacation the last thing I want to do is drive. The parking lots are so huge at WDW that in most cases after you park you have to tram to the park entrance unless you want to do a lot more walking. At the MK the tram will take you to the monorail or boat that will then take you to the MK. Disney buses drop you of right near all the park entrances. For the MK only Disney buses are allowed near the entrance.
We normally get to the park before opening (doesn't matter which park or if it's EMH or regular hours). By noon we head back to our resort for a break and later go to another park.
Note that you can hop from Epcot to the Disney Studios easily via the Epcot International Gateway. From this exit/entrance (near the United Kingdom) you can boat over to the Disney Studios or walk in about 30 minutes. The Friendship boats that run between the two parks stop at the Yacht/Beach clubs, Boardwalk, and Swan/Dolphin along the route. The Epcot resort area is a great place to eat and shop.
