Best way to get to Islands of Adventure from a Disney World Resort without a car

What's the best way to get to Islands of Adventure from the Disney World Resort(specifically Old Key West) without a car or a rental car?

There is a Mears shuttle you can arrange for that will pick you up at the resort, for I think, $15/person round trip.

We decided to go with a cab, because we didn't want to be stuck with a particular pick up or drop off time. Plus we wanted to be returned to Downtown Disney. It was a good thing too, as the day we went to IOA, there was no one there (DH went on Dueling Dragons 16 times!). We arrived at about 11 am and expected to be done around 5 or 6. We were ready to go a little before 3 (like I said...no one was there ).

It was about $30 each way.

how many people can you fit in a cab?
We will be there next fall, we stay on WDW property but want to travel to US for a day. We have 6 adults and 2 kids ( 5 and 8)

maybe we should rent a van for a day or do the shuttle? =/

When we go we use tiffany towncar. As I remember it is $80 round trip and can be picked up anytime. Also you may make one stop (like a store). I think it is the cheapest and easiest way with parties of 5 or more.
