Best Way to Get to AKL from WL

We will be staying at WL in August and want to have dinner at AKL, an early seating (5:30-ish).

What is the best way, using Disney transportation, to get to AKL from WL, at that hour?

I was thinking the boat to MK or CR and then a resort bus to AKL? After dinner we would probably head to Epcot, using an AKL bus?

What are your thoughts and experiences?
