The best way to get the most enjoyment and use out of the DAS pass is going through the virtual chat and getting approved in advanced before your trip so that way you would not waste valuable time waiting in line at city hall to qualify and get your DAS pass, then download the Magic Guide to see what the wait times usually are. Pre-book the two rides or attractions you want to go on that have the longest wait times (Avatar, Slinky Dog Dash, Jungle Cruise, Star Wars, to name a few), then immediately when you get in the park, select another ride to make your in park DAS reservation that has a long wait time as well that you want to go on, then pass the time to fo shows, and attractions with short lines, as well as mobile order (and mobile pay) your meals to avoid standing in the long restaurant lines. Then when these times come (pre-booked and in park return time), go do the attractions you booked and repeat the process until the park closes (by making another in park reservation) and each day. Also, if you are going tomorrow, pre-book two more attractions for tomorrow before turning in for the night (I read you get two advanced selections per day).

It is 2 per day, but those must be booked at least 2 days prior so you can't do it the day before. Most folks book the 2-per-day for their full trip, or at least 7 days worth (seems to be a more recent limit). Do this when you video chat.

Is this a question or a statement?

This is a link to the helpful thread that was mentioned. The first post in the thread is a up to date summary of DAS including how to apply for it and how to use it.
The rest of the thread is people’s reports of their experiences or questions - the last page is recent; the first few pages are from right before and right after DAS video chat registration began in October 2021.

I’m not sure what you meant by ‘download the Magic Guide,’ but I’m guessing you mean the My Disney Experience app, which is Disney’s official planning app. Before starting the DAS video chat registration, you need to set up the app, make sure your tickets are linked and make sure the rest of your group are listed in the My Friends and Family list.

As was already pointed out, the 2 DAS Advance Selections that are made in connection with the video chat need to be booked at least 2 days before your park visit.
This link to the WDW website lists attractions that are eligible for DAS Advance Selection. Those listed may be available, but may not have time slots available on the date/time of your visit.
Not all ‘high wait’ attractions are on that list (for example, Avatar, Rise of the Resistance, Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railroad, Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure are not included).
Guests using DAS can make a DAS Return Time for those at the park on their day of visit; the exception is Guardians if the Galaxy which is currently using Boarding Groups/Virtual Queue. ALL guests must have a Virtual Queue/Boarding Group for that attraction.
The DAS Return Time is based on the current wait in the Standby line. Some attractions are not available for DAS Return Times right at park opening, either because they don’t open right away or because they don’t have a posted wait time.

Using Mobile Ordering for food and snacks can save time waiting in line, but be aware that the pick up time may be quite a way in the future, depending on how busy it is. There are options for how to pay listed on the link above, but all mobile orders must be prepaid when making the mobile order
