Best way to get from Universal area to WDW?

We will be staying in the Universal area for a few days before our week at WDW and I'm still puzzling over how to get from our offsite hotel to PORS. I've been told that Mears is a good choice but should I make ressies on the Mears website for a particular time? Or can I arrange this at MCO? I also need a Mears bus to our hotel when we arrive and then one from PORS to MCO but planned to purchase this at MCO upon arrival.

Has anyone done anything like this?
