We'll be staying at the BWV in February. I would like to have breakfast at the Kona Cafe one morning before spending the day in MK. We will have a car. Which is the best of the following options?

A) Drive to Poly, then drive to MK (we have never driven to the parks before!)
B) Take bus to MK, then monorail to Poly
C) Take boat to MGM, then bus to Poly
D) Is there a better option I haven't thought of?

Thanks!

IMHO, the best option is to take a bus to the MK and then either boat or monorail to the Poly.

If my breakfast ADR at the Kona was relatively early (before the MK opens), I'd ask about the early character breakfast bus and take that. Many times the driver for that will drop guests off right at the resort (instead of the park). If not, you will at least get an early ride to the MK (it may come as early as 6:30 or 7, depending on the park hours for the day and the time the character restaurants open). From the MK you can either monorail or if it's not too early, you might be able to take a boat over to the Poly.

You can't drive to the MK - instead you drive to the MK parking lot which is known as the TTC (Ticket and Transportation Center). From there you take a tram to the front of the parking area and then either take a monorail or the ferry to the MK. For this reason, we never drive to the MK even if we have a car.

Best wishes -

The character bus is a good idea especially if you are just going back to the BW when you are finished at the MK.

But the Polynesian is a short walk from the TTC. Depending on where you are directed to park at the TTC, you can either walk directly there or take the tram to the TTC and walk over from there.

Thanks! I didn't know about the early character breakfast bus. I'll ask when we get there. If it's not an option, we'll go ahead and drive to the TTC. :earsboy:

Just want to add a note....DO NOT believe anything the Front Desk tells you abour the early character breakfast buses. Most Cast Members know little to nothing about transportation...for whatever reason. There are early buses every day so just be at your resort bus stop about 45 minutes prior to your reservation. This will give you enough time in case you just miss a bus. Also, be sure to tell the driver you are going to the Poly. If time allows the driver will drop you off a the hotel.
Only believe transporation info from the bus drivers (the purple pants people), as Chip 'N Dale (former Disney bus driver) always tells us.
