Best way to get from ASMusic to WL - Anyone?

I asked this on the resort board, but was told it would be better answered here!
We are am checking in late 11/10 at ASMusic, using ME from MCO for only one night, (because of resort availability issues cannot get 3 nights together anywhere in WDW that weekend!) We are going for 3 nights to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Our MYW package for 2 nights at the VWL starts on Friday 11/11. We want to get to MGM early on 11/11 but need to get over and check in to pick up our tickets at the WL.
What is the best way to go?
Should we just take a taxi, and if so, are they available as needed at ASM or do you have to call? Does anyone know how much this taxi ride would cost?
If we use the bus system, should we just get on a MK bus then boat to WL? WDTC said to take bus to TTC from ASM, then WL bus from TTC?
Any experience here on the quickest way to make this trip? We want to maximize our time since we've never been at WDW for such a short weekend. We've never stayed at either resort either so I am unfamiliar. I guess a lot of concurrent events make this a super busy weekend in WDW, do they adjust the number of busses making trips when it is busy like this in a usually slower time of year to go?

The quickest way would be to take a taxi. There's usually one or two waiting outside the resorts, but if not just ask one of the CM's outside to call one. You could also take the bus to MK and the boat over to WL. Disney will move your luggage for you. Just call bell services when you're ready to leave and tell them to transfer your luggage to WL.

The fastest way would be to take a taxi and I would guess that the cost would be between $12-$15. Someone at guest services or the conceirge desk can call for a taxi for you.
There are no buses from ASMU to the TTC, the buses from the resorts only go to the parks...except I think for Fort Wilderness, their bus may still go to the TTC.
If you use the bus system, the fastest way would be to take the MK bus from the ASMU and then the bus from MK to WL. You can take the boat from MK to WL but I would think that the bus would be faster.
The ASMU will transfer your luggage to the WL, it is usually done later in the afternoon, I think they told us it would be transferred after 1:00

If you want to get to MGM early, I would take a cab. Taking the bus to the MK and then the boat (is there a bus that runs from the MK to the WL?) to the WL is going to take quite a while.
