Best way to do Fantasmic/Fireworks

I know that we'd like to catch everything at lest once while we're there (3 nights - Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Right now we have dinner at BB on Saturday at 6:10 but that's all we have planned in the evening. How would you split them up and still hopefully see things more than once?

In my opinion it's best to plan on the fireworks and Fantasmic on different nights. It just makes things easier. Plus, if there is wind and rain there is more of a chance of the fireworks getting cancelled than Fantasmic being cancelled.

But your options would be:

Watch the first Fantasmic then stay seated to watch the fireworks. You will hear the soundtrack and see the rocket blasts. But you will miss all the effects on the castle and the Matterhorn.

Watch the fireworks from in front of the castle, then make your way over to Fantasmic for the 2nd show. They won't let you in that area until after the fireworks anyway, so you will still be able to get a good view.

Watch the fireworks on your first night, then Fantasmic on the 2nd or 3rd. The later showing will always be less crowded and therefore a bigger chance at getting a good view. This would be my choice. And if for some reason the fireworks get cancelled, you still have 2 other nights to try to see them. If you wait until the last night to see the fireworks I'd hate to see it get cancelled on you.

I would vote for this option. Since the fireworks are more apt to be canceled, I would see them first, then walk over to see the 2nd show of Fantasmic (if there is one). You will find it relatively uncrowded (compared to the first show).

I echo the sentiments about ensuring that you do the fireworks your first night in case of cancellation. On a two day Christmas trip, I decided to do them the second night, and ended up missing them.

And by all means, watch the fireworks with the castle and Matterhorn in view. Both are literally a part of the show.

If you opt to do both the same night, then position yourself near Frontierland for a quick (relatively speaking) route to the Rivers of America.

We'll definitely try the fireworks on multiple nights. When I was there in June 2006 both nights that I tried to view the fireworks were cancelled. I was pretty heart broken, so it's not an experience I want to repeat!
