We are going to Disneyland for a day. I would like to know what is the best way to do it? We have a 5 year old DD and an 2 year old DS. Any helpful tip I would love to hear. Thank you

Go in with a plan. Going to a Magic Morning would be a huge bonus if you're staying at one of the 3 resort hotels & the day falls on a MM day (T & S days).

With children that young, I'm assuming Fantasyland would be a priority. If you aren't able to do a MM, be at the gates prior to opening. Go directly to Peter Pan in Fantasyland......it is by far the most popular ride in this land. Dumbo, Alice, Mr Toad are the others that can stay quite busy all day. Fantasyland is probably the busiest area in the park (partly due to the amt of rides in a small area) but the crowds congregate there....especially if they have smaller children. So the earlier you can do this area the best.

ToonTown is another area you're kids would have fun in with all the bright colors & familiar characters.

If you & your spouse/partner are interested in the bigger rides, one of you could run to gather FP's & then you'd need to look into rider swaps so you don't have to stand in line twice for each of you to ride.

There are wonderful threads with great information at the top of these threads.......read thru those to get hints, tips, information, etc that should help make your one day awesome!!

Good luck & have a *+*+*Magical*+*+* day!!

Try coming in the off season... If you must go during the summer come early! Map out the rides you really want to do! Get fast passes for the ones that offer it. Look at the park hours and entertainment schedule piror to getting the park. This way you can plan accordingly.

If you have a smartphone download a wait time app. :)

I agree. If you and your spouse are interested in a thrill ride like the new Star Tours, get a Fast Pass as soon as you walk in. Peter Pan and Dumbo are definitely the most crowded Fantasyland rides so I'd do those right off the bat. Toontown is great for the young crowd--that's fairly available all day and the food choices aren't bad back there, so there's no rush for that one. Be sure to catch Small World--it's one of my 2-year-old's favorite rides.

If you have a choice of day. Like suggested above, a Morning Madness day if you can or are staying onsite. The are usually on Tues, Thur, Sat and Sun. If not avoid those days.

Use Fast Pass, Rider Swap and Single rider Lines, the last being pertinent to the big rides little ones can't go on.

If you can do the park hopper. While the fireworks and Fantasmic are great World of Color, the night time show in Disney California Adventure relates the best to kids and adults.

Get there before park opening and leave after it closes. Find a way for midday naps if need be, which is probably a must for at least one of the little ones.
