Best way to arrive?

We are arriving at MCO at 1:15pm on November 1st and need to either check in at POP or stop at Shades Of Green for our park hopper tickets and still be at Magic Kingdom by 4:00 for early entrance to MNSSHP. I don't think we will have time to do both using the free transportation?

Originally we were going to use the free shuttle to check in and then DH was going to get up early the next morning to get our park tickets.

Would we be better off just renting a car or doing some other type of transportation and try to get everything done in the same day instead of using the free shuttle?

Having used ME and a rental from MCO to the Values, it is about the same amount of time.

At mid-afternoon, I would imagine that there would be no lines to speak of for the bus from POP to MK, and they do come pretty regularly, so again, I think the difference in time would be fairly non-existent.

I'd say save the money on a rental car and have a couple extra Dole Whips or tubs of popcorn instead

It'd be tight, but I think you can do it using Magical Express and Disney Transport to the park.

I think the average is 70 minutes to the resort using Magical Express, and they say to leave about an hour to get from resort to park. That leaves about 30-45 minutes in the middle to check in, get your passes, drop your stuff at the room or Bell Services, and head back to the bus stop.

Maybe you get to Magic Kingdom at 4:15 or 4:30? If it's important for you to be at the park at 4pm on the dot, take a cab from Pop to Magic Kingdom. I don't see a reason to rent a car for your entire trip if that leg is the only concern.
