Best Way back to LAX to catch a 7:30 am flight

Hi, this is my first time posting here on this board but glad to be part of an awesome resource such as this forum.

We will be staying at the HoJo and I was wondering what would be the best way (and economical way) for a party of three adults and two young kids to return to LAX early in the morning.

We have to catch a 7:30 flight back to Canada.

Does Super Shuttle take reservations for early morning pickup at the hotel?? Or is there a better way? Has anyone taken a taxi back to LAX from Hojo? How much would a cab ride cost us?

I'd consider staying close to the airport the night before, even if you got there really late. LAX is a BIG airport, you'll want to get there early to get through security.

Especially if the day you fly out is a weekday! We had a similar situation just last weekend (not there for Disney but a wedding). We flew out Monday morning 7:45AM.

They have an airport shuttle and included continental breakfast. Plus rooms that sleep up to six.

Otherwise, I would be nervous about taking a shuttle that they may run late. I would pay extra for a taxi. Besides, shuttles tend to charge per person and taxis do not. So a taxi may be economical for you.

Since we are big "get to the airport 2 hours ahead" (and that's just for domestic flights) people, especially after nearly missing our plane (out of LAX!) once, we would be getting there at 5:30. Giving a solid hour to get to the airport, that's on the road at 4:30, which means having our stuff out of the room by 4:15 at the latest and that's very dependent on where our rooms are, then you can just keep going back to when people would need to be dressing, etc.

Given that, I think I'd leave Anaheim the night before and stay somewhere with a free shuttle. But since you'd be getting out so early, I wouldn't go with a place with a b'fast; there's a large frustration level when you pay "extra" for a place with b'fast then you check out before they open it!

I was once quoted a price of $75 for a taxi ride back to LAX. The cab driver seemed to indicate this was a good deal. it was not for me, as I was traveling solo and already had Disneyland Resort Express planned.

If you go with Super Shuttle, don't mess with the time they give you. They schedule in multiple stops, and they schedule those with trust that the customers haven't fudged their flight times... I was once on a SS that was perfectly pleasant (thanks to lovely people from a holistic health/food convention), but I was the first on at HoJo, then we drove around Harbor and Katella for *literally* an hour, picking up a bunch more people (who were all pre-scheduled), until finally getting on our way an hour before I needed to be at the airport. If I'd fudged the numbers, I would have been in bad shape!

I have no experience with LAX. If our flight is on Sunday (not a weekday as above) at 8:15 am, how long before the flight do I need to be there to make sure and get through check in and security? Thanks

Since there are 3 adults & 2 children, I think your best bet is to take a taxi that will take you right to LAX. I recommend leaving at 4am/4:30am at the latest, so you can get there by 5:30 - that gives you two hours before your flight.... just to be safe.

LAX can be busy early in the morning since there are a lot of flights going back east and overseas.

Duckfan, depending on which airlines. I only use LAX (live near it), and when I fly Southwest I like to be there at least 2 hours ahead of time. The security line can be really long, especially since they share w/another airlines (forget which one right now). When I fly another, like Delta, American, or United) I like to be there 1-1/2 hours ahead to give me some buffer time. Just flew to Colorado last week, and got to the airport an hour ahead and had no trouble, but to me that was cutting it a little close (United).

Expect an hour drive from DL without traffic, and an hour & a half with traffic -- this gives you some cushion time, but better than missing a plane.
