I'm leaving for Orlando in 2 wks, and have DS age 7 and DD age 5. Wondering if Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach would be best for them. Thanks for the help!

We went to BB last year with my DS 2 & 5. The entire family loved it! The family raft ride was awesome. In addition to having a area for 5 & under they had another area that was for little bit older kids 6 & up I think. It was really cool. Several water slides that my 5yo could do even though he couldnt swim at the time. Next trip we are going twice!

Blizzard Beach is kinda cartoonish so the kids love it.

The very young kiddie area is big, well planned, off the main track and looks like alot of fun. Lots of parent seating and lifeguards highly visible.

(Typhoon Lagoon's was originally very small and right on a main path. My 3 year old was bored and I didn't feel the location was well planned. It has since been expanded by I found it to be alittle crowded and chaotic.)

Back to BB, right across a bridge from kiddie area is the elementary age play area which my younger one loved. Your older one (and maybe younger one) should be able to do enough there too. Floating ice, small raft slides, zip slide.....

Of course they can do the lazy river and hopefully family raft. The wave pool is much calmer than Typhoon Lagoon and enjoyable for young ones.

Kids area are both to the right when you go in the park.

Hi Just got back form WDW last night. We went to BB with my DD (7) and DS (4 at the time, 5 today). They loved the area set up for the elementary age kids, under 12. They ahve several slides, a tube ride, a ice raft crossing and a rope slide.

We also went on teamboat springs and the lazy river as a family as well as having a family race on the toboggan slide.

It was a lot of fun and they did not get bored. If your kids can't swim don't worry. My DS spent the whole day in a lifejacket (you get them there for free).

Also incase it matters DS is generally small (40 inches). He had some trouble reaching some of the nets and stuff but was more than able to participate. He had a ball.

Wow, thanks for the great info. everyone. Sounds like BB will be the way to go. I can't wait, we leave in a little over a week!

Another question, is there enough to do to keep us there for the entire day? My kids love the water, so we're planning on making a day of it, just curious if they will get bored or not.

Thanks again!

We always make a day of it, by the end we are ready for a simple dinner and bed. Our kids hate to leave.

We started out taking a cooler full of food etc in, but we found the prices reasonable. So now we take a cooler with drinks only and then snack food. The kids loved their lunch kids meal - a pretzel grilled cheese sandwhich (which I now try to do at home) and it was served in a bucket with shovel.

If is fun to walk around. There is a skylift to ride up the mountain, even if just for the view and walk down. But it does drop you right at the family raft ride. The lazy river is good for a couple runs and it will take you awhile to travel.

Have a great time :Pinkbounc
