We only want to spend a half day in a water park. My children have never been to Florida Before. They are ages 9 and 12. Is it better to go first thing in the morning or late in the afternoon? Thanks for any help, Janet

If you go late afternoon, you risk the chance of not being let in if they are closed to capacity.

We loved Typhoon Lagoon with our kids ages 11 and 6.

We haven't been to either one, but plan to visit Blizzard Beach this summer. It was rate the 2nd best water park in the USA on the Travel Channel.

If you get the Travel Channel, you can watch the show about the water parks on March 15th 7:00 pm (EST), March 16th 2:00 am (EST), March 21st 12:00 pm (EST). Here is the link where I got the information:

On March 22th at 4:00 pm (EST) the Travel Channel is showing a program called "Undiscovered Walt Disney", and they show some of Typhoon Lagoon (I think, I only saw the show once before, but I am pretty sure it was in it). Here is the link I got this information:

Go first thing in the morning! My kids both love TL the best. You can easily do the slides and raft rides, play in the wave pool, do the shark reef, and go around the lazy river by 12:00 noon. We've done this every year we go. :earsgirl:
BB takes a little longer because there are more waits for the slides. There is a really nice area for preteens like your 9 and 12 yr. olds. My son liked that area the most, but still chooses TL over BB every time! :D

While we're on this subject, what's the best water park for an adventurous 4.5 year old and a cautious 9 year old? My 4.5 year old ds will jump right in (!!) but my 9 y/o ds doesn't like fast rides and won't go in water over his head. I want him to be able to have fun without being stressed out. Any suggestions?

My girls are 7 and 10 and not the adventurous type. They really liked BB better then TL..

go to Blizzard Beach on a rainy day. the park will be empty and youre gonna get wet anyway! we did this and it was fantastic.

If you have UPH ticket (not burning a plus pass) you might go around 3:00p. By then the people who got there early in the day left and anyone who had to buy a ticket (or use a plus pass) probably won't be coming.

My 4 yr old DD loves BB!!! And this is an understatement. We got there at 11am and they had to kick us out around 5pm.

My daughter loved the lazy river, and all the kids water slides. There is an entire section of the park that is dedicated solely to the little ones and it has all of the amenities of a classic water park with a special Disney twist in miniature.

My daughter still hasn't stopped talking about it and we went in August. She used to be a major fraidy cat and was even scared of the Pirates of the Carribean until recently (now completely cured rode the ride 11x straight this January) My family highly recommends BB and we can't wait until our trip this summer.

My family liked both of them, for different reasons of course. It's really hard to decide. Neither of them were very busy when we went in April. We did both parks in one day, spent a few hours at each.

I really liked BB just for the setting, plus they have some real fun slides. BB has the best kids area of the parks, my girls, 6 and 7 at the time really liked the zip line.

Then we went to TL and couldn't get them out of the wave pool, along with myself and my wife....that thing is an absolute blast. I think the snorkeling pool at TL is a joke, especially after you just went to Discovery Cove.

It's a tough choice, try em both...but if I had to suggest, most suitable for kids would be BB.
