What is the "mister" of choice this summer? Brand name? Store? Size? Any info is greatly appreciated.

I plan to include one in a goodie bag for my three sons (12,10,9) for their surprise trip in a couple weeks.

Of course they will moan about carrying ANYTHING in the heat of summer, but it seems like a no brainer item for Late July. We've never been to WDW in the summer.

TIA-

My daughter has a Disney mister fan that we picked up at Walmart for $5.99 in Kissimmee in May 2003. I saw a lot of the misters at the Disney parks that cost $19.99 and the children who had them seemed to love them. My husband and I have an off brand we paid 3.99 each for at Walmart. I say the best fan is the one that works.

Remember smaller - the better. The ones you get buy in the parks get awfully heavy to lug around. Right now most Target/KMarts/Walmarts are selling off on those items. I found a hand-model that stores water it and has a fairly large soft fan blades. Runs on one AA.

You can always fill up the smaller versions at the parks and those won't feel 20 lbs like the bottle type. Enjoy your trip! Ely

This one has a "clip" so you can hang it on your pants.

I got mine at Walgreens for around $8.00.

They also have larger sizes. I got a 16oz one at BJ's for around $13.00. This one has a strap so you can wear it around your waist.

My DD LOVES them!! Recently we were at an all day outdoor event. Very hot day & not many trees in the area. I just bought them this year (thanks to other threads on these boards! :smooth: ) so I really wanted to "test" them out. My DH-to-be started off saying you will look silly, don't expect me to carry THAT, etc. By mid day, he was using it more than me & our DD!!! Needless to say, he asked me to bring one when we go to Disney. :earsboy:

as a side note, because this was an all day public event, I wore my fannypack so I wouldn't have to carry my pocketbook. I brought the small Misty Mate & stuck it in the waterbottle area on my fannypack. No one noticed it was there - until we were using it & even then, they had to be REAL close to notice. It is a very fine mist, but it does work wonders. These will come in handy in August, that's for sure!! :teeth:
