Best view for quiet stay?

We're both very light sleepers and are nervous about getting a room that's loud/crazy. We haven't had any luck lately at WDW resorts, lots of loud neighbors. For quiet stay, what's best a resort room with: Standard View vs. Island Gardens View or Partial Ocean View OR a Deluxe Studio with Island Gardens View?

(I'm assuming any Poolside Gardens View would mean pool noise, so I'm taking them out of the options list, feel free to tell me to put them back in.)

We actually choose Marriott KoOlina due to what felt like overwhelming masses of people and kids at Aulani (Aulani always felt like the parks during the holidays - just too many people per square foot). Marriott is a couple lagoons over from Aulani and felt about 1/2 as full, and thru Redweek was cheaper even with an Ocean View. Perfect was seven days at Marriott and book one night at Aulani so the kids could have a couple days to play in the pools or do activities there. The two are a beautiful ocean walk apart if you want to eat at either one. Marriott had a great Luau too.

That said, there is no guarantee you won't get the one noisy neighbor that has zero respect for the rest of the world - but we've been pretty lucky that way and Always bring comfortable earplugs just in case!

Good assumption. Leave that out.

Any of the other views you mentioned shouldn't be an issue.

I would stay away from any first floor rooms, as the AM and PM can become quite loud with kids, pool-goers, and cast members going about their day. Even the 2nd floor can be loud. Best to aim for floors 3 and up. The adult pool/spa side also has some noise coming from the road between Four Seasons and Aulani. Hope is your stay is great.

I've stayed in several different sections of the resort and the only problematic noise I experienced was the American Idol rehearsals. It was annoying but it was in the middle of the day so didn't disrupt sleep.

That said, if you're really looking to optimize quiet...

What you want: Island Garden or Ocean View, Waianae Tower facing the spa area and the Four Seasons

What you don't want and why:
  • Waianae Tower or Ewa Tower, Poolside Garden or Ocean facing Waikolohe Valley - Pool noise and/or Olelo Room live music
  • Ewa Tower, Island Garden or Ocean facing the Luau lawn - Luau noise, but should be quiet in the morning and on non-luau nights
  • Ewa Tower, Standard or Island Garden facing the convention center - Traffic, convention center events (clinking of dishes, potential for wedding or other event music)
Also worth nothing: Stuff at Aulani tends to close quite early. Like... the pool might close at 6:00. When you're looking at noise from the *inside* of the resort as it affects sleep, it's more likely that you'll be hearing live music from the Olelo room than kids in the pool. Pool noise is all midday.

Found a photo that might provide context.

This was taken from a Poolside Garden View room at 6:22 PM on a Saturday. As you can see, the reports of mass chaos in the pool area are greatly overstated. The resort is *extremely* quiet and peaceful in the evenings and early mornings.

Could you possibly be more specific on the location of this view? It’s beautiful

Something to note about the Aulani rooms in general. When the sliding doors are closed they are are extremely good at damping the outside noise. We were on the 7th floor (Ocean View) facing the pools. So can't say if it'll be the same on the lower floors. But my family noticed the noise difference immediately. (We did the Ace Ventura Pet Detective sliding door bit. lol.) It was very very quiet in the rooms.

Enjoy your stay! Aloha!

Between floor noise we could hear in our studio. So Id ask for top floor. We did not hear anything to the sides of us. The sliding doors are so heavy and thick you cant hear anything outside through them.

That's why you gotta go in February.

64 degrees with the ceiling fan and a light blanket and it's the best sleep I get anywhere.
We went in August. February is one of our travel months though, so I may have a Feb trip in my future.

We had a 10th floor 1 bed ocean view room (1058 maybe)? And while the room view was amazing, the sound from the live music at the Olelo Room went till like 10 or 11 at night. I wore earplugs but it bothered my husband a bit. We were in the EWA tower.

A high floor, island gardens room would probably be the quietest. If you want ocean view, then request one on the outside of a tower.
