I realize I'm speaking to a limited audience, but for those of you who love them as much as me...

Around WDW parks, where are the best veggie burgers found? I will be traveling with a meat eater, so he isn't looking...just me.

Thanks!

Columbia House at the MK has many veggie choices. Tusker House at AK has a veggie sandwich (not veggie burger). They might have them in the Wonders of Life pavillion at EPCOT. I know they have a good one at Beaches and Cream and I believe it's on the menu at ESPN.

I had one at Cosmic Ray's at MK. The burger itself was good, but nothing special. However, the topping bar makes this my favorite place to go for a veggie burger.

There aren't too many places that offer veggie burgers.....I can't imagine why Boca, Morningstar or Garden Burger have not pursued Disney as "the official veggie burger of Walt Disney World". LOL!!!

I've read that Rainforest cafes veggie burgers are very good.

I always order a veggie burger at Beaches & Cream. I don't eat the bun and then I don't feel as bad about eating the delicious ice cream sundae for dessert.:D

But back to the topic ... the veggie burger is nothing too special ... it tastes like it might be a Gardenburger or something similar to that.

I think the veggie burgers at Disney (including the cruise) taste like the Boco burgers which we don't like as much as Garden Burgers and Morning Star.

Our very FAVORITE veggie thing we have found so far is the Vegetarian Chili at Columbia House at Magic Kingdom. The only thing I didn't like is I wanted MORE!!!! It comes in a bread bowl.

I think the Rainforest Cafe veggie burgers are better than the ones I had at other places at WDW. We had one at Beaches and Cream (at Beach Club) a couple months ago, and it was fine, but I think I will order the grilled cheese instead next time. But the Columbia House Chili will be a family 'tradition' for now on. We loved it.

It seems the veggie burgers at WDW leave something to be desired. :(

I'm looking forward to trying the veggie chili at Columbia Harbour House though. :D

I've also read positive reviews of the veggie entree at LeCellier, so I'm looking forward to that while DH has his steak! ;)

The veggie burgers at the Rainforest Cafe are very good. Also, I saw someone mention the Tusker house. They have a vegetable sandwich that was good. The Plaza Restaurant has a vegetable sandwich, but I have never had it. Lastly, the ESPN Club has a veggie burger and it was good and big. I am not a vegeterian, but I usually try to eat lighter when it is so hot outside. Enjoy!

and our son in law is a vegetarian........when we went to Disney with him.....he ate veggie burgers almost everywheres......he liked going to the places that had a fixings bar.....like Cosmic rays and Pecos Bills....ALSO.....if you would like to try a portebella Mushroom burger????? he said the one at Planet Hollywood was totally awesome....we all had huge REAL burgers and he had this HUGE mushroom......he was in awe of it.......he also said that alot of the places had good vegetarian chili and salads that were very good.....marinara sauce on linguini were good choices too

All of you are being very helpful. :)

I also think that veggie chili sounds wonderful (except not in Florida in September ;) ).

Kaycee, my favorite meal last September was at Le Cellier. They offered this amazing vegetarian dish...it was brothy with linguine and veggies...almost Japanese in flavor...however, the last time I looked at WDWIG's menu, I didn't see that item! :( So I'm not sure it's available anymore.

Sometimes it's not the veggie burger itself as it is the toppings you pile over it.

What a great post. My wife and myself love Morningstar products, so we are always on the lookout for some good veggie entrees. We had Morningstar Sausage for breakfast this morning and it is really good.

As a die-hard vegetarian...here is a mini review of my December 2002 dining experiences...and please remember...this is only my opinion:

CHH....the veggie sandwich was actually pretty good....I think its called the "Coral Reef" ???
The vegetarian chili in a bread bowl.....very little chili....way too much bread bowl.
The vegetarian sandwich at Tusker House was truly horrible...slimy, etc....maybe it was on off day.
The veggie burger at Cosmic Ray's is good...due to the toppings bar...I'm a huge "topping kind of girl"
The veggie lo mein at ABC Commissary (MGM Studios) was very good...not everyone agrees however.
The veggie burger at the DTD Rainforest Cafe was outstanding....it tasted extremely "meaty" tho....and YES...it was vegetarian.
The single best vegetarian experience I had was the Vegetarian Stuffed Pepper at PTC.......truly AWESOME !!!
Uncle Al's Vegetarian Pasta....WCC was pretty good....and the Apple Viniagrette dressing is absolutely to die for.....

Okay....you only asked about veggie burgers......but I tend to ramble on.....(since I'm not going back to WDW in the foreseeable future....I have to live vicariously through you)....

Have a great time and happy eating......:Pinkbounc

I do agree that there was too little chili with the bread bowl chili at Columbia House. BUT it was very good! It was only $5, so it wasn't expensive.

The Rainforest Cafe wins my vote. Cosmic Ray's isn't too bad when you add all of the great toppings!

Jinnyboom,

I LOVE vegetarian stuffed peppers! Does PTC mean Prime Time Cafe? PLEASE TELL ME! MUST TRY THEM!!!!

BTW, I do appreciate your rundown of veggie foods...I hear that the California Grill has some wonderful vegetarian entrees.

Planet Hollywood has a veggie sandwich (not burger) that was mighty tasty.

What is CHH?

I didn't write that post, but I did see on the menus that the Prime Time Diner does have the stuffed peppers. When we ate there last year in April there was nothing for vegetarians (we ordered a side salad and ice cream). I saw that the Sci Fi Drive IN also has a new vegetarian meal (but I forget what it was). I have been checking out places to eat for our upcoming trip. If you look on this site, you can read all the menus:

BTW, has any one eaten vegetarian at Cinderella's Castle for dinner? I looked at the menu, and there doesn't seem to be an option:

Just wondered if anyone had any luck making a special request. When we were at the Prime Time Diner last year (before they had the stuffed pepper), the server did not offer anything 'off the menu' to us when we said we were vegetarians. That is why we just orderd the side salad and then ice cream. So I wasn't sure if there would be anything for us at the castle since I don't see it on the menu.

westjones and anyone else desiring special request ... when you make your PS ask them to make a note that you are vegetarian,Then call ahead a couple of days(directly to the restaurant) and again on the day of the PS). I've read lots of post here about chefs actually coming out and speaking to the customer too. If the server seems oblivious to your dietary needs please ask for someone from the kitchen to come out.
