DD is travelling with a vegetarian friend on her next trip and we have no idea what sort of food he will find. He is on QSDP and they are staying at CR.

They are happy to visit other resorts as well as eat in the park just so long as he doesn't have to live on pizza!

Any recommendations would be welcome.

I don't recall the restaurants in the parks so well, because at the time I wasn't veg (I am now vegan). But we love staying at POR and one reason is their QS food. They have a regular burgers, fries, and chicken nuggets kinda counter. But they also have a 'make it your way' salad counter. And a 'make it your way' pasta counter. Not sure if that will end up helping, but it's what came to mind.

That would probably be ideal for them as DD is a hardened meat eater but does love pasta too so this would satify them both. Thankyou!

I would also suggest googling 'WDW vegetarian' and the like. There seems to be a good deal of info out there from others who have gone through it and some of them are pretty great about documenting and pictures and whatnot. I'll definitely be doing a lot of surfing before my next trip.

Magic Kingdom:
Columbia Harbor House - Lighthouse Sandwich, vegetarian chilli (real delish)
Tortuga Tavern - vegetarian burrito BUT you can get the burrito contents in a taco salad bowl and its way better
Pecos Bills/Cosmic Rays - Veggie burger

(I reccomend the first two options!)

Epcot:
Sunshine Seasons - tons of options! tofu and veg noodle bowl, sushi, tabouleh pinwheels, veggie ruben etc...
Morocco - my fav! vegetarian platter - omit the lentil salad for vegan/dairy aversion

Hollywood Studios:
Backlot Express - grilled vegetable sandwich (I haven't tried this one - we usually do 50s/Sci Fi while at this park for lunch..)
Pizza Planet - I haven't tried this one - I don't do dairy, but the atmosphere is pretty cool

Animal Kingdom:
Restaurantasaurus - vegetable subosaurus with sweet potato fries (make sure you snag a seat inside the airstream trailer, and read the stories around the restaurant!) This one is OK, not amazing, but its a decent option if you don't want to leave the park

Resorts:
Art of Animation - amazing veg options! home made veggie burger - 99% sure its a chickpea patty with edamame and other veggie, it's real good!Tandoori aacorn squash, smoothies for drink/dessert and best of all babycakes mini cupcakes for dessert or snack!
Grand Floridian - tabbouleh wrap, real yum and filling, also a visit to that resort is a great break from the parks
Animal Kingdom Lodge - at the Mara I believe they do falafel, and I do believe it was great last time I had it
Roaring Forks - Veggie sandwich with hummus and roasted red peppers, really tasty

Downtown Dis:
Wolfgang Puck Express - I prefer the one in the Marketplace, it's a little newer and they recently expanded their indoor seating area. Lots of veg options from fresh thin crust pizzas and pastas, and if he's just a vegetarian you can get creme brulee as a dessert with a QS credit.

Definitely don't miss Morocco, or Columbia Harbor House. Also, if you're at Columbia - go upstairs and sit on the overpass where you can people watch in front of the Haunted Mansion.

I did read on a blog that if you don't see a vegetarian menu item, just go to the cashiers and ask.

I heard that at Animal Kingdom where veggie options are sorely lacking, the person who wrote the blog article went to Yak and Yeti and asked about veggie options and ended up getting sweet and sour veggies as a dish!

That sounds much better than veggie burger or cheese pizza everyday.

Check the link in my signature to my blog, I just wrote about a ton of vegetarian CS options in Disney.

My personal favorites though are; Columbia Harbor House, Sunshine Seasons, Tangerine Cafe, and Wolfgang Puck Express. And all of them I loved before I went vegetarian too, so your DD shouldn't have a problem finding something to eat.

Veg too- Sunshine Seasons has incredible options. Plus, a lot of the veggies are grown in the Land pavilion, which adds to the flavor and is good for the environment(:
