At 'Ohana if you happen to get lucky and go when Chef TJ is working (usually Sun-Wed, but of course changes once in a while and he does have vacations and days off) does a vegan 5 course meal. If he is there and you get lucky to go when he can cook for you.........you can get a great meal. They do have large grilled shrimp for the pescetarian.

Crystal palace is supposed to be fairly good for a vegan. Not the best in WDW, but I think there are a few things there. You should probably call ahead and make sure to talk to a chef when you get there to see if they can do something special.

Teppan Edo has a veggie teppan dish. If you tell them your vegan and to cook your items first and not to use butter you would be ok. They also can cook on a back grill if you ask. For the pescetarian......lots of great choices.

The Plaza has a veggie sandwich, but you have to order without cheese and on a wheat roll or ask to see the ingredient book for their rolls and pick a different roll. They have great homemade chips there.

I've heard the wave chef's are pretty decent at cooking for vegan's. You should call ahead so they can note on your ressie and talk to a chef to let them know your coming and maybe they can brainstorm and come up with a good option.

Yak and yeti is good for a pescetarian. They will do the lo mein type thing with tofu with advance notice or sometimes even without advanced notice. Just let them know your vegan and ask what your options are. The fried greenbeans are not vegan.

LeCellier - I've heard mixed reviews here. Call ahead and talk to someone. If they have proper notice and you get a willing chef, I've seen some good looking options. I've seen them make the tomato stack vegan and it looked yummy. I've seen people who have gotten tofu stir fry's that looked good.

Sci Fi is decent. You can either do the veggie burger with the gluten free bun, they have fried onions and mushrooms there too. You can also get the tofu dish, but let them know you don't eat honey and they will do something different with the sauce.

Chef Mickey's is not the best buffet for vegans. You would do better at Boma or Tusker House. I'd really really recommend BOMA!!!!!

I'd also recommend Jiko and I can't wait to try Saana some day!!

I'm pescatarian and my DH used to be. Our favorites are the places at AKL (Jiko, Sanaa, and Boma) plus Flying Fish and Narcoossee's.

Of your list, we've had good experiences at Sci-Fi (had the tofu, and the shrimp pasta) and Grand Floridian Cafe (for breakfast, DH had the lobster eggs benedict and I had the smoked salmon). I haven't eaten at any of the others on your list (at least, not recently enough to judge) except for 'Ohana, that was breakfast and it was great, but it would be tough for a vegan.

I'm curious why you want to know about vegans and pescatarians, but not run-of-the-mill (lacto-ovo-) vegetarians.

I used to be a pescetarian, so I can help you out too. Obviously I think you'll have lots to choose from at the Coral Reef, being a seafood restaurant and all but I haven't heard too many positive things about it. The Wave is also another good one whether you're vegetarian or pescetarian. Not sure about vegans, but I know two vegan friends of mine had the tofu sandwich at lunch and they loved it.
Citrico's is one that I have an ADR for, and I'm a vegan - they have an entree on the menu that sounds like it is vegan, and I'm hoping that even if it isn't, can be made vegan. Someone in a thread I made said it was the best entree they had their entire trip.

Like others have said, if you get Chef TJ at 'Ohana, you'll be very happy. On the other hand, even if you don't get Chef TJ, I think you'll still be happy. The other chefs CAN do something, and even if they can't they have a vegan and vegetarian meal that they have as a staple (it's a tofu stir-fry), and then there's the broccoli, noodles and salad (if you're vegan, they may make the salad with a different dressing since the one it comes with is honey).

My favorite restaurants for vegans... Tusker House and Boma, that I have experienced. But I've heard amazing things about Sanaa, too.

It's funny that everyone's favorites seem to be at AKL! We are staying there next year, so was holding out on Jiko, Sanaa ando Boma. Can't wait to go!

Just to answer the vegetarian question. My husband has very high cholesterol and was put on a "vegan with occasional fish" diet by his doctor, hence the start of this thread. It sounds like we will be ok just about everywhere except maybe Chef Mickey's. I think we will still go as my DS3 will be thrilled. Maybe hit the Kona sushi bar afterward so my husband can get something to eat! Thanks for the advice everyone!
