Best Values for eating off-site

The search feature hasn't worked for me in a couple of days. No matter what I type in, it says no matches. If we stay on-site, but have a car, what would be the best values to eat off-site for 5 people. The orlando magicard doesn't have much. What about the entertainment book? Or just good old plain deals that have to be better than eating on-site?

how cheap do you want to go?

there is a Golden Corral not to far at all.

also Ponderasus - has some really cheap stuff.

get discount books at the rest stops - if you aren't driving - there is one on I4 not to far from WDW.

We liked Golden Corral. We ate their twice on our last trip, once for breakfast and once for dinner. The dinner was better than the breakfast. They have steak cooked to order each night. Their desserts are really yummy too. Next year we will try Ponderosa for breakfast. They have a buffet for $3.99. There are all sorts of chain restaurants on 192 - Olive Garden, TGI Fridays, Perkins, Waffle house. Here is a link to the businesses on 192.

If you have younger children, something else to consider is finding places where kids eat free on certain days or after a certain time.

Some examples or kids eat free places (it is recommended that you call to verify). These are just a few that came up in google:

Roadhouse Grill - Up to 2 Kids 12 and under eat free every Tuesday with the purchase of an adult entree

Gator's Dockside - Tuesday night is Kid’s Night. And it’s all about having a super silly time. (Just ask the clown. She’s the one with the big red nose!)

On Kid’s Night:
From 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm KIDS EAT FREE!
(Kids under 12 years of age, l child per adult)
On Super Tuesday (that’s the last Tuesday of the month) there’s a drawing to WIN A BICYCLE, so be sure to register when you come in to Gators (must be present to win)

Some CiCi's pizza places do kids eat free on Monday night.

Some Ponderosa's offer kids eat free on tuesday nights.

Lonestar Steakhouse on Tuesday/Saturday


There is also some sort of kids eat free card that you can buy, but it did not seem to have a lot to choose from in the orlando area that my kids would be interested in.

It may not be the cheapest food around but they give you plenty and we always go home with leftovers for another meal or snack.They have very nice kids meals. My kids enjoy it so they eat it and the kids meals come with the most delicious smoothies!!! We usually go to Bahama Breeze for a later lunch around 1:30 or 2 after spending a morning in the park. We are still pretty full around dinner, so we will just treat ourselves to a Mickey Bar or ice cream that night instead of dinner. It is one of my favorite places to eat!!!

We hit the Cracker Barrel for breakfast. You can get a HUGE country style meal for a good price. Then we are pretty much set until dinner, with a couple yummy Disney snacks during the day.

The Ponderosa all-u-can-eat breakfast is good until 11am so hit it at 10am and you'll be set until dinner and it is lots of food for $3.99 (they charge high prices for drinks though so have your coffee at home first or bring some juices and just order water!).

We saw CiCi's and debated going. I believe it's $5.99 or some ridiculous price for all-u-can eat all day! Most kids eat free offers were for kids under 9yrs so my one DD (11) didn't qualify. If you hit 192 between markers 3 and 6 you'll have tons of options or International Drive between SeaWorld and Wet N Wild.

I can tell you that eating off property will save you $$$$$$ - we had lunch for 4 at Planet Hollywood at Downtown Disney, 2 fajita meals, kids pasta and kids pizza and 4 drinks and it was almost $100!
