I am able to take advantage of free dining in August. Where do you get the most value using the snack credits on DDP?

depends on what you like....we usually go in oct. or march,so not too hot...we use the snacks for ice creams(mickey bars,or strawberry ones)...seems like we maybe got ice cream cookie sandwiches with them that were good and filling,as were the pretzels...we thought it was value wise to get 1 drink to share(or bring drink/get a cup of free water) and use the rest for actual food, and not drinks...used leftovers in gift shop to load up on rice krispy mickeys for home....also we liked using the snack in place of breakfast, then an early counter lunch, and later table service dinner.i think there also some neat snack options in World Showcase.

There are so many to chose from. if you want a pickle just buy it we look at stuff that is about $4 as a good use of the snack credit. We did take some snacks with us thinking we would run out of credits and in the end we had 10 credits on the last day. We stocked up on Mickeys rice crispy treats and a few other little things to enjoy for a few weeks after.

Almond Pretzel in Norway. It is not a snack, it is a meal.

My husband always saves ALL of his snacks for the last day, and goes to Goofy's Candy Shop in DTD.

I believe a snack is up to $4.00, and I know he buys many things that are $3.95.

I just buy what I like along the way

We also love Goofy's Candy Shop. I think you can get 3 chocolate covered pretzels for 1 snack credit. :dance3:

The rules have changed for a lot of Goofy's Candy Co snacks as to what counts as a snack credit. There is info about it on the dining board. Most does not count anymore.

there is a sticky thread on the dining board that details what can be bought as a snack credit. Lots of good things count as a snack and some things have been removed as snacks, notably most of the make your own treat items at Goofy's. :sad2:

OHhhhh No! Those are our family favs, I guess we will just pay OOP for our create your own treats this year, thats a bummer!

We used it at the French Bakery. The ham and cheese croissant counted as a snack credit. It was great for breakfast the next morning.

The candied almonds in Fantasyland, Dole Whip Floats in Adventureland, 2 scoops ice cream at Ice Cream Parlor on Main St, Smoothie near Rock n Rollercoaster, Soft Pretzels in all parks, Pineapple chips and other Chip n Dale snacks from the kitchen area at World of Disney.

We had about 6 left on our last day and while in the cafeteria I ran into a woman who had over a dozen between her and her mom. I got apples and carmel sauce, uncrustables, boxes of cookies all for the plane ride home. We went during Nov/Dec so it wasn't hot and we had ordered water. I could have gotten everyone a couple more snacks in the park.

Our favorite is the Ice Cream Sandwich from the Main Steet Bakery, they are huge! We shared one between 3 of us and it was plenty for all of us.

Booo!!!! :sad2: Even the plain chocolate pretzels? We just bought these in Sept '09 with snack credits. I know the "fancy, special orders" aren't covered, but just the plain 'ole chocolate ones? How very sad! Nothin' like salty/sweet to make this girls day! (Okay, maybe the mushroom filet from LeC, but salty/sweet rocks too!) :rotfl2:

cheesecake and huge cinnamon buns at Main St Bakery

you speak of the cinnaloaf that can feed an entire village. lol I thought they sliced that thing when I ordered it. I felt like a gluten when it was passed to me and ended up giving 3/4 of it away to another family I didn't even know.

We were able to have 2 pretzels with one sprinkle instead of 3 plain chocolate ones. The only other dipped item that is covered is the marshmallows on the Mickey straw. I had to pay OOP for a Mickey crispy bar because DS12 wanted on so ad. This was back in December.
