I am looking at booking our trip ASAP and I was pretty set on a moderate resort but then I saw there is quite a bit difference in price that I will save going with a value. Any comments on witch is better? Or are they and should I stick with port- French quarter. We are family of 4- kids 19 and 17

Our favourite value is Pop. I just really love the vibe there. Buses have always been great for us and it's an easy, quick and beautiful walk over the Generation Gap bridge to AofA. AOfA buses are also great and we enjoy the food court at both resorts. There is lots to choose from. :)

I have only stayed at Pop and Port Orleans Riverside. I would choose Pop anyday over POR. We just downgraded our reservation at CBR to Pop yesterday.

My late teen kids love Pop (like the festive vibe). For next trip in Spring, we decided the current deals, especially with stacked discounts thru Orbitz (and Upromise), we will benefit greatly by getting 2 rooms. These older teens will enjoy more space and we'll get 2 bathrooms. Reasonable cost comparison on value.

We love POP. It's a lot of fun there. We personally have never had any issues with anything there. Our last visit we stayed at Riverside for the first time. We absolutely loved it there. Our daughters new favorite place. They loved the pool, food court and room. In December of 2014 we stayed at CSR, which was lovely. Our son age 22 told us he missed the POP and preferred staying there. This trip we are doing a split stay. 7 nights at AOA Lion King suite, and 5 nights at the POP. The biggest differences we notice besides the obvious, are 1. Toilet paper, 2. Towels, 3.bed size, 4. No ceiling fan. These aren't stopping us from staying in a value.
I think if you are fine without the amenities that a mod offers, I would stay at POP and save the $ to spend on other things while there :)

I know Pop is a fan favorite here on Dis but my vote would actually be for one of the All Star resorts! AoA is out in my book because of the higher price, and the distance between the main building and the standard rooms. Pop is nice but we had a couple issues with our room last time we were there and ended up switching. Nothing major and it certainly didn't ruin our trip but it is something that sticks out in my mind. My best value experiences have been at the All Stars (though I've yet to try Music- later this year I will!) Movies is my favorite, the theme is festive Disney but with some old-school variety. The size is small and the rooms were clean and quiet.

No matter where you pick, all the values are a great value and I definitely recommend the savings! More money to spend in the parks, IMO!

I've only stayed at two values, Music and Sports. On our first trip we decided to go Music because they said it was the quietest. Looking back now at ALL my stays I can agree with this. I've also stayed at POR, CS, and Contemp and I will agree that it is one of the more quieter ones I've been too. And after a day filled with walking, I like to come back to the room and turn on some old cartoons in peace. And Music allows that.

Of the values, we've liked All Star Sports the best. We like the Football buildings. Close to the pool, close to the buses. Friendly staff, recently redone food court, decent bus service (and the first stop on the all star loop...)

I have stayed at POP twice and have had a good experience. My DW and I went for an anniversary trip and had booked for a king room, but were placed in a two double bed room. A quick call to the front desk and it was resolved fairly quickly! Buses were always fairly frequent since they are dedicated to that resort. The cafe an be quite noisy at busy times even during the slow season so that is a minus, but would still do it for a trip where being at the parks were the main priority.

We've stayed at Sports, Movies, and POP. Our favorite is Sports. Movies is comparable though. The theming at Movies is very cute! Food courts at both are comparable.

We didn't like POP as much. More people and a bit more chaotic. Food court is better than Sports and Movies though. Parking was hard to find late at night (80's section, after midnight, early-October).

Can't comment on transportation because we usually have a rental car.

Stay with POFQ if you can.

I have two rooms in my cart on Orbitz right now! But is there a way to make sure they are together? I don't want to have our family split across the resort... I am used to going through WDW directly, but the savings this way are hard to pass up, if I can make it work!

There is no way to guarantee the 2 rooms will be near each other. And that is true whether you book directly through Disney or through a 3rd party. Connecting rooms or rooms close to one another are just a request.

I'm so excited to hear someone who has stayed at both and love Pop, too. We adore POR and have stayed there on three out of our last four trips; we're trying Pop this year and I am so nervous. I hear it's fantastic, though!

POR was way too big for my DH and I to navigate by ourselves. Pop just is so much easier to get around. Hope you enjoy wherever you choose.
