When you leave the Fort turn left and go straight to Hwy 535(about two miles or less )and turn right. You will find many of the resturants that you have in many areas of the US . If you go to Mapquest and check the area they now list resturants on the maps. There many to choose from and the prices are close to other areas of the US.

I'd say definitely drive. Disney roads outside of the Fort are not biker or runner friendly, you won't find any sidewalks on Disney property outside of a resort, except for the Downtown Disney area. But I agree that area has a lot of normal priced restaurants.

Definitely drive and check out both directions on 535 where it hits Hotel Drive and 192 is not that far either.

Giordano's Pizza is about a block if you turn left on 535 and seems highly recommended when I researched it. We went there in Jan 2008 and while it was good it was IMHO still over rated. I went to college in Chicago and often went to the original Uno's and Duo's on the near north side so I'm spoiled. There are also Uno's around and you can just do a search for them.

When it comes to pizza it won't take to impress us. All we have around us is Pizza Hut thats close. Growing up we loved the pizza at the Fort but in the last 3 years or so it sucks.

Orlando (millers) Ale House. Great food every time we've gone and prices are great! Desserts are huge, appetizers even bigger. They just built 2 up here in PA , and I'm sooo happy!

Crab Shack. Just google it. It is a chain but went spend less there then anywhere and the seafood was great.

Directions: At the Fort wilderness exit turn left go to end of road turn right in about a mile or two there is a intersection with a 7/11 on the left corner. Go straight thru the intersections and Ceci's is on the right. There is also a Hooters and the Pirate Golf you can see from I-4 here. If you turn right at the 7/11 there is a Golden Corral just past the entrance to I-4 on the right hand side of the road. If you turn left at the 7/11 there is a Steak and Shake in about 1/4 mile on the right hand side in another section of the Crossroads Center.

PS: You will need a car there is no sidewalks or the room to ride a bike on the road from the Fort

Went to CiCi's and Golden Corral (for breakfast buffet) last trip...love both and have cheap prices. Buffets work well for our family so everyone can find something.

Cross Roads has a Fuddruckers, Sweet Tomatoes, Perkins, Chevy's, Buffalo Wild Wings, TGI Fridays, Flippers Pizza, Red Lobster. Sweet Tomaotes is usually really good.

Well you learn something new every day. For over 25 years I've been going down Vista Blvd (the road that runs past FW), but have always turned right at Live Oaks Ln. and over to a right on E. Buena Vista Drive and then a left just past the DTD bus stop onto Hotel Plaza Blvd to get to 535. I never thought to go down into the warehouse area on Vista Blvd. until it hit 535.

We take RT 4 E to exit 68 (535), take ramp to the end and cross 535. It goes straight onto Vineland Ave. Golden Corral is on the left off Vineland. It sits a little bit back from road, but I think it's the first entrance on Vineland after you cross 535 (8707 Vineland Ave). It's about 15 min. from FW. Great place! (and the Disney outlet is just down the street from there )

Thats the way we go into the Fort also. No traffic to deal with at all and NO squeezing through the tollgate or trying to get in the right lane after the tollgate with all those buses and Cast members cutting you off. If you go in this way. On the I-4 exit ramp get into the most left hand-right turn lane (several lanes turn right) so you can easily make the left onto 535 at the next signal lamp (without having to change 3 lanes in a 1/4 mile)

The new Golden Corral is now open on US -192 (just south of I-4).
I think they have breakfast too. Right near Arbian Nights Dinner T.

Going further South towards Kissimmee. The Applebee's in front of Target has 1/2 price Apps at the bar before 4pm.

And the TGIFridays same direction has half price apps, $2 beers and free wireless - starting at MAYBE 4pm (bar area only) (I think that's when they open too).

Dennys in FL & GA - are running specials on GRAND SLAM breakfast - either $2.99 or $3.99 depending on the location - starting at 6am and ending before a certain time (2pm - 6pm).

The Racetrac on 192 at the counter had buy one get one free coupons for CiCi's pizza buffett. 8 locations in the area.

The HESS gas station next to the Magic Kingdom parking lot has $6 - 1 topping pizza's on Tue & Thur - regular price is only $7 for cheese - $8 for 1 topping. You can drive from the Campground and back in less than 10 minutes round trip. They can cook one fresh for you too if you want to wait.

I am so happy to see this thread! With all the free dining at WDW that isn't even available to us campers, it's getting more and more difficult (not to mention expensive) to eat at the Disney table service restaurants. On our next trip we're going to try Golden Corral and some of the other nearby restaurants. Thanks for all the directions!
