Best underrated restaurant..

puddleduck -- Everything at Kona is good. But I don't know of anyone who has eaten the Beef Teriyaki and didn't find it memorable. :thumbsup2

My husband. It was acceptable. It wasn't good. Not a good piece of beef.

My take on Kona was that it tries, but doesn't quite pull off what it is trying for. But it is a value for what it is trying for.

For breakfast, we enjoy Olivia's and the Grand Floridian Cafe.

It has gotten poor reviews here on the DIS, but we thoroughly enjoyed Nine Dragons. We were there in December of '04. It was cold outside and our throats were scratchy and we were a bit grouchy and tired  We entered Nine Dragons and our spirits were lifted immediately! We got dim sum and soups and tea. We were treated so well by the wait staff. Amazingly friendly. We walked out of there so much happier than when we walked in. We wore ourselves down all week and this place relaxed us.

Which leads me to believe that a good waiter/waitress can make all the difference in the world. I think we left a 50% tip :teeth:

Food court at coronado (mentioned earlier) but dont tell anyone and dont go there. The next time I go I want it to be just as deserted. There was one other family and 2 groups of 2 business like people there. The only waiting was for the steaks to be cooked - yes cooked they have things made to order not just the pans of stuff ready to go like at the all stars resort. and real steak not the sliced flank steak. It was SOOOO good and nice and clean. had a cm circulating the dining area filling drinks (you give drink orders and they are brought to you and refills). It was kind of a comprimise between a table service and a quick service. Well worth the effort of going out of our way to.

Where is the Sand Trap? I've never heard of it.

Not big counter service people, but had lunch at Columbia Harbor House , something like that, in MK It was very good, went upstairs to eat , was deserted and quiet.

Another vote for Nine Dragons! Dh and I ordered the Sesame Chicken and booked another ADR for later that week. The food was awesome and my dd ate the kids' menu fried rice.

For CS we really like Yorkshire Fish and Chips in EPCOT!

For the quality of the food (better than Victoria & Alberts and much better than California Grill), I don't understand why this restaurant is empty most of the time! :confused3

I LOVE the taco salad place across from POTC. I heard a nasty rumor that they might have closed down...anyone know?

I second Pepper Market, some people don't like it, but I've never had a bad meal there, and just this last June, ate there twice and both were excellent! Wish it was covered by the DDE though :(

I also really enjoy the Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch (never went for dinner, not a character meal person), and the Plaza Restaurant. I have an ADR for our November trip at the Grand Floridian Cafe and I am very happy to see all the good reviews!

BTW Pop Century food court IS really good!

Another vote for Boatwright's breakfast. Their sweet potato pancakes are so good!! No syrup needed.

Also, I love Wolfgang Puck Express for lunch or dinner. Everything thing tastes so light and fresh...even the french fries :) .

I vote for Marrakesh and Kona Cafe. Both are kind of off the beaten path and usually not crowded. We had our favorite meals there. Don't miss the Lamb and Lentil Soup at Marrakesh and the Crab Cakes at Kona. Wonderful!
