Best Type of Bag to bring to WDW

I love my LLBean Healthy Back Bag. I've used it for my last few vacations and everyday too. The LL Bean site has a couple on sale right now. I also just purchased an Eddie Bauer shoulder bag. Its actually a diaper bag but looks like it will be great for travel. It has a couple of compartments, water bottle holder and cell phone pocket on the outside. I got it on sale from the website-16.99.

I use the Overland Donner bag...very sturdy, holds EVERYTHING...comes in lots of colors...cute enough to use as an every day bag...It has water/soda bottle holders on each side which are VERY handy in the parks. You can also stick an umbrella in the side pockets as they have a mesh bottom and won't collect water that falls so frequently in Florida!!!

It's a great all around WDW bag!!:thumbsup2

Well, I got my bag today from ebags. Here is a link to it:

I love this bag! I think it is the perfect bag for Disney. When I am wearing it, I barely feel it...it had three main pockets plus the pocket on the strap...it does not have all the little credit card slots and mesh pockets like the Baggallini, so if you like that then this is not the bag for you...but for me, it is perfect. I'll probably carry my camers, wallet, some other essentials, and still have room to spare for a bottle of water and any small-to-medium souveniers I buy. I comes in pink (which is what I got) light blue, black, and purple. I love it!

Here's another vote for the Overland Donner bag....I love that the water bottle holder is integrated into the straps and sort of hidden. Plus, I can carry two bottles conveniently without DH and I having to use two bags. I used mine while touring the Desert Museum in Tuscon over the holidays and it was perfect for a relatively warm touring day (for December).

It's sold in many places, but here's a link if you want to check it out: http://www.rei.com/product/47694892.htm

I have a nice Travelon bag, that I took but I did not use. I bought a really neat purse/backpack in the gift shop at the All Star Music. I am sure they have them all over the parks. It was black, had a zipper pocket and a cell phone pocket on the outside. You pulled the straps like draw strings and it closed and the straps became back pack straps. I could have put my digi camera in it, but I was afraid I would lean back against something and break my LCD screen. A few years ago, I dropped and broke a digi camera at WDW so I always carry a separate leather padded camera bag which holds two digi cameras, extra batteries etc. Anyway the light weight back pack purse had room for a camera if you are brave enough to carry one that way. I was comfortable wearing the backpack and carrying the camera bag as a shoulder bag.

I bring my L.L Bean turbo sling backpack. It goes over one sholder, and is very comforatble for all day wear.

I love this bag! !

Hi!

I'm trying to decide about a bag, too, and was considering the one you bought. Do you mind if I ask you a couple of things? Would this bag have room for a small camcorder, wallet, cell phone and about 20 sheets of paper? Would it hold more than that? And do you have to wear it across your body or can you switch it up sometimes across your bodya nd sometimes on your shoulder? And does it have a pocket on the back closest to your body?

Thanks!

I purchased a Mickey drawsting bag with various pockets and used it. It was great. It held a lot too; camera, video camera, water, tickets, wallet, batteries, etc. I got in the gift shop of the WDW hotel we stayed at. I believe it was around $20.

Hello. Haven't been here in awhile, and just happened on your question.

Anyway, I think it could hold all of those things, if the camcorder was really small, and if you didn't mind folding the paper. I carried a bottle of water, camera, and poncho in the main compartment, money and credit cards in the top pocket, and small things I wanted to get to quickly in the front pocket (like lipstick, cell phone, mirror, small souveniers that I bought, etc.) I carried it on my sholder once or twice, but I found it much more comfortable across my body...I don't think they meant it to be worn on one sholder. And no, there is no pocket on the back next to your body. Just the three pockets in the photo plus the small one on the strap...perfect for tickets and fast passes.

Personally, I loved this bag. It was so light, easy to get into. It was perfect for me.

Hope that helps!

A few years ago I bought a red and black camel-back (knock-off) style bag from Target (can't remember the manufacturer :( ). It was much smaller than a normal backpack. but still held everything we needed, plus it had lots of pockets and sections for organizing.
We did however take out the bladder and straw before use.
My favorite feature of the bag though, was that it had both a waist strap and a strap across the chest you could use if you wanted. I would often use both straps and it took the weight/pressure of my back which *really* helped.
Unfortunatly I lost the bag in my cross country move, but before going to Disneyland last fall, I found a similar one (in green by Coleman) from
K-mart ...I think it was about $35 or so. I wish I could find a picture...but I love love love this bag!

My sister in law has a Vera Bradley Backpack
I have been looking at those
with a going to be 5 year old I want to carry an extra set of clothes, camera, etc and it holds a lot!

I have been looking for the perfect bag too, and I've finally decided on the REI Mini Sling. I'm ordering it now and I'll let you know how it looks when it arrives!

I love the ful Peabody that a pp mentioned, especilly the price, but I just don't think it is quite big enough. I travel light but with a toddler I need a couple diapers and snacks.

I'm really tempted to try the Overland Equipment slings, the Luna and the slightly bigger Sol too, around $60 each. But I needed to order a couple of other things from REI anyway so that is my final descision!

I can't take anything I can put down or I will lose it. Also, my shoulders don't take any kind of sling or strap. We travel a lot and this is what I have found as the best system for me:

1. I bought a very small, pretty crocheted purse with a long strap that I wear to hold a travel wallet, passport (if needed) and phone. This never leaves my body if I am out of the country. My friend spent her last day in London at the US Embassy after her purse disappeared while she was sitting next to it in the hotel lobby- I had already left for home- thank God the wonderful concierge gave her cab fare to get to the Embassy! Even in the airport here, it makes for quicker trips through security.

2. travel wallet (much smaller than my standard wallet with all the pictures, credit cards, checkbook, etc.) It has my driver's license, money, credit cards, insurance cards. Again, shortens getting through security without the risk of losing stuff.

3. A black lumbar pack (very large fanny pack) from Kelty. It has external straps to carry a rolled-up rain coat. It can be converted into an over-the-shoulder bag and has a handle to use as a handbag. It's pretty well rainproof. After while, I quit packing a purse entirely. If I am going somewhere nice, I take the tiny black purse. (That's why I didn't buy a passport holder- they're ugly).

This lumbar pack can take a hydration system like camelback. I freeze the pouch the night before and pop it in the pack. I have cold water all day, but sometimes I used to feel like a momma cow when the little ones would get a drink from my tube. As I said, I never put it down:goodvibes
