Best TS to supplement my DVC (170 points at BLT)

Sorry, do you mean the maintenance dues are $5.49 per thousand points? I can't imagine it's per point. I'm not familiar with other timeshares.

because NO ONE was bidding, until the last few seconds.
Most others were probably using a sniping service. I have for my ebay timeshare purchases.

Don't kill yourself to use this year's points; depositing them to RCI can be useful for high-value exchanges. There are even some situations in which it makes sense to exchange back into Wyndham. Unless you have something you want right now, wait until later in the Use Year to deposit them; you have two years from deposit (at least) to use them in an exchange.

Congratulations, and yes, sounds like a good buy. Passing on the $1 deal with high MF's was another great decision.

Like Dean said, go to school and learn the system as much as you can. It is very good, very flexible, and getting better every day it seems. But it is much more complicated than DVC, so there is a learning curve. RCI is another learning curve and you'll have to study that as well.

Wyndham is rather slow setting up accounts, so stay on top of that process. Getting your RCI account set up is a separate procedure, and it is NOT automatic. You'll get the paperwork in the mail from Wyndham and that also goes slowly. You will have to get that set up before you can deposit, but you have plenty of time before 12/31.

Just for reference, it took me almost SIX months before both accounts were properly set up. I think they are doing better these days, but keep at it.

Yes, Wyndham MF's are per K, not per point!
