As a child, I remember being captivated by the World Showcase. I loved eating at the various restaurants.

Fast-forward - my kids are less amazed. We also live in a large, diverse city, and have many opportunities to eat other cuisines.

Which TS restaurants in the World Showcase are the best - not just because they are interesting, but because they are really that delicious for what they offer.

I plan on one TS in the World Showcase - we are trying to do fewer this time around.

You will have as many opinions as folks who reply. Tastes vary.
How old are your children? What ethnic cuisines do you enjoy at home? Disney restaurants feed the masses. We really enjoy eating in World Showcase because we have reasonable expectations.
I don't think I would classify anywhere as "really delicious".

We love to eat in the WS. We just tried Spice Road Table and really liked it. My family is always wanting to do Biergarten, good buffet and nice show. We liked San Angle for the atmosphere. DH loved the food at Chefs De France. Le Cellier used to be a must do favorite of ours until they went to signature (2 TS credits).

Girls are 7 and 10. I just hate to spend so much $ and time on say, a hibachi experience we could have in our own town. The restaurant in Morocco looks beautiful, but we have local options like that (Lebanese, not Moroccan per se, but it looks like the cuisine has high overlap).
Décor or setting could elevate the experience as long as the food is good. Last year, we had a wonderful meal at La Hacienda de San Angel - big plusses were the lucky table placement with great view and fabulous experience with staff.

It seems like there is something approaching consensus with best resort restaurants, most worthwhile character meals, most popular ADRs - I just didn't know if there was also consensus in this "category" (if this could be considered a category).

Or at least - any restaurants in World Showcase that I should avoid?

Cross-posted with you. Thank you - I'll look into those.

To avoid...my least fave was Marrakesh (yikky food) and then Teppan Edo (Japanese Steakhouse) is like the ones we can go to at home (actually the ones at home are better). Your kids might like Biergarten. I'd say the others are all worth a try (we haven't done the Chinese place but I think that wouldn't be anything special).

Avoid Nine Dragons-one of the worst meals we have ever had at Disney.

If I could only pick one TS in Epcot, it would be Le Cellier. Lots of people don't think it is worth 2 credits, but we have never used the dining plan so that has no bearing on my feelings towards it. I think the food is very good, better than BOG, with a much more varied menu. I don't go there expecting a meal like one I would get in a high end NYC restaurant.

For a less expensive meal, Rose & Crown would be my choice. The Sticky Toffee Pudding alone is worth the trip!

Nine Dragons is pretty bad. Most Chinese takeout in any town will top it. Le Cellier is excellent, and we do the R&C one night with an ADR before Illuminations and sit outside. Marrakesh isn't excellent- but it isn't bad- spices are reduced a lot for the American palette, which is the opposite of what it should be since these restaurants are supposed to be authentic recreations of the cultural dishes- plus there is now an entertainment charge for the belly dancer, so given all this we won't return. We live in the desert southwest, so for us San Angel is a joke- but if you live elsewhere it might be passable Mexican food. As a PP said, you will get as many opinions as people posting- we all have different likes and dislikes, and different expectations depending upon regional dining experiences and experiences in higher end restaurants. The French restaurant upstairs is also quite good- Monseigneur Paul's- but it is over the top expensive even though the quality is good. We are going to do Biergarten this time- it's about the only one we haven't done in WS. As long as you go into this not expecting 'amazing' food- as they are preparing food food the masses- you will enjoy whatever you pick. We tend to eat at the resorts for the most part- much better food for the dollar spent IMHO.

We come from a small town, but have a diverse amount of eats here plus the next city over. With that said, we still enjoy a few of the WS eats. We like San Angel, not typical Tex Mex, nice atmosphere. Biergarten is good too. Great atmosphere, good food, fun band. Via Napoli good pizza. Rose n Crown good food. Nine Dragons seems to be taking a hit here, but we like the Honey Sesame Chicken
