When is the absolute best time to go to Disney? What do you guys think or have experienced? any stats on it?

thanks!

I've always liked first 3 weeks of December. Relatively low crowds and all the Xmas stuff is up! Also love Food and Wine Festival time. A bit more crowded - but still reasonable and F&W is great.

There are lots of places that you can find crowd calendars/predictions online for the upcoming year. There's also several websites that will offer up plans for traveling during just about any month of the year.

In our experience, for the absolute lowest crowds either go after Labor Day or in January (avoiding MLK weekend and the marathon crowds). People very rarely take their kids out right after the Christmas holidays or right after they start school in late Aug/early Sept.

Another relatively low time is after Thanksgiving up through the first week or two of Dec. There are some crowds but it's manageable to get to see all the decorations.

A lot depends on the person. What is most important to you? Weather, crowds, price? Do you have kids? If so, are you willing to pull them out of school?

Sept is great crowd wise, but is very hot and humid. If you have kids, you probably don't want to pull them out the first week of school, hence the empty parks.

Lots of folks like Aug, but it is way too hot for me. Hotter than the sun, humid, and rainy. I thought it was crowded at the end of Aug, but others don't feel that way. Did I mention how hot it was?

Nov is awesome weather wise and crowd wise, but you have to watch for things that spike up the crowds like Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Marathon etc. The week before Thanksgiving is just about perfect IMO.

Dec is great if you want the x-mss decorations and cp, which lots of folks love.

The spring is nice weather wise, with only moderate crowds.

So it really depends on what is important to you. Personally, I think November is just about perfect. I also like the first week of January, the parks empty out after the holidays. I also think the first two weeks of Sept are great too.

The week before thanksgiving is when my next trip is planned. One of the online sites rated it as the 4th best week all year to go.

did a full Disney trip 2nd week of September 2011. LOVED IT!! walked on to most rides (never waited more than 10 minutes on ANY ride). weather was great too!

went one day to MK beginning of May 2013 and, again, LOVED it! barely any lines, and weather was great too! :cool1:

We have been during February school vacation, April school vacation and in July. We seem to always luck out with weather, as it is always warm and sunny. You never know with mother nature though. February can be tricky. April vacation is wonderful. July HOT HOT HOT. Advise, no matter when you decided to go; plan, plan and plan. We plan everything and make sure we have alternate plans as well. You need a game plan. Our family has a blast planning our Disney vacations. Enjoy!!

I've gone many times of the year but in my opinion September, right around/after Labor Day is the best :thumbsup2
