Best time to go between...

Oct 3rd and November 30? The boyfriend and I are planning on going again this year (maybe two more times ) and we were just wandering what the best time would be between those two dates crowded wise? He can only take one day off so it would be a Friday-Sunday type of vacation. I was thinking next weekend would be horrible since it's the first weekend everything is back open. Not sure when it will die down a little bit. I really need my Disney fix. I put the soundtrack and listened to it in my truck today really loud (pretending I was on the ride) but instead of feeling happy and excited for the next ride I got out and I was at school.. haha!

I would say the week before thanksgiving week....anything the month of Oct. is going to be bad no matter what weekend but if you go either the 13-15 or the weekend after that you should be fine

That's when we always go. We usually arrive Wednesday night and are there Thursday-Monday. Rides are back up after the Holiday overlay refurb and the Holiday parade and fireworks come back. Friday is expecially slower and the crowds get bigger the closer you get to Turkey Day

October's rough this year with crowded weekends....Gay Days, then Columbus Day, then CHOC Walk, oh maybe the next weekend is clear, then Halloween! Exhausting!

November has Veterans Day, and people used to say it's crazy there, but if I recall correctly, last year poeple said it was mild.

It really is pretty hard to predict DL and crowds. One year at one time it may be dead and then the next year at the same time of year it could be packed.
October weekends may be crowded due to MTOTP going on for the month of OCT and because all the Halloween decorations are up. Too bad you couldn't break away mid week in October because it may be a little less crowded mid week seeing as how all the schools are in but then again it still could be one of those things that you just never can really tell....kind of like the weather here in California.
We were at DL one January expecting normal January weather cool maybe showers but for sure on the cooler side and what do you know 90 degrees but that is just another one of those things that you just can't predict very well.
Well the one thing I can say is that no matter what dates you choose to go I hope you have a wonderful time and I am sure you will because any time at DL is better than no time at DL

thanks everyone! yeah i do understand, i bet it's hard to predict the crowds. the sooner we go the better (in my world at least), so i don't know maybe we will try for a weekend in october or something. cause Tink&Pooh you're right, any time is better than no time! Plus since we will try to plan two, it's probably better to spread them out a little bit! I do remember going on Gay Days once and I don't remember it being too crowded, but my teacher saw me! He was teaching the class and all of a sudden he stopped and was like "ASHLEY I saw you at Disneyland!" hahah.

Well since you are going during the week you should get pretty decent crowds (at least until about 4-5) because the local kids have school during the week. You should be fine, by that time the locals have most likely ridden the rides they wanted. I am a little worried about going on a weekend! But again, any time at DL is better than no time!!

If we were visiting DLR in Oct. (WDW instead) it would have been the week (week days) of the 19th. I think you'll be alright. OP ~ good luck with your decision ~ if Fri-Sun works what about Sat-Mon? Whatever you decide get there early and take advantage of FPs.

Ok I just have another question, since the SM overlay will be gone when we go on our trip in November, we are going to go on a quick trip in October too. We have to go on a weekend though so I was just wandering is next weekend a good time to go or is there something else going on?

Well it'll be UEA break this coming weekend - shouldn't be as bad as recent years cause some districts aren't participating. But it's also Gay Days http://www.gaydaysanaheim.com/ ~ I would not go this weekend. I'd rather deal with Columbus Day crowds or CHOC walk crowds.
