I know it can be really hot, so what time would be a good time for dinner. Do you think 4:30 or 5:00 or is that too early? Thinking about BOG, Liberty Tree, Rainforest Cafe, Garden Grill, and Hollywood and Vine.

thanks for any input.....

The best time to eat dinner is the time that works for your family. I don't see how strangers on the Internet can tell you that.
For example 4:30 - 5:00 is late afternoon, not dinner time, to us.
We would eat around 8 PM (or sometimes later)

Agree with the above poster. It depends on your family and trust me, I live here and 4-5 pm in Sept is still very hot in the day.

I'd say between 2pm-5:30pm will be the hottest parts of the day. I'd recommend getting to the parks early then going back to your hotel to swim or relax then head back to the parks after 6pm for dinner. It helps break up the day and get you out of the heat.

We often go end of Aug./beginning of Sept. and we usually try to do a table service for lunch (like 12:30/1:30) to get a break from the heat/crowds and then do counter service for dinner. I'm not sure if we'd be able to time dinner right to take advantage of getting out of the heat...many times we don't eat until 7ish after our lunch, but yes, if you guys could swing doing a 4/5:00 dinner, you'd def. be getting a break from the heat and crowds still at that time.

We normally eat dinner around 5 or 6 at WDW. We like to be done in order to find good spots for the nighttime fireworks or shows.

My September plan is to do a TS lunch most days to sit down and get out of the heat for a bit before heading to the pool for more cooling.

We aren't as young as we once were and like an early dining time. After dinner we walk around and enjoy the park/resort. If we are feeling peckish before turning in some ice cream or a midnight snack works well. I know its personal preference. However crowds seem a bit lighter at signature dining and occasionally table service. Another bonus is wait staff is beginning (usually) their shift and feeling fresh.

Really depends on you and your family. Are you having lunch or do you have kids with you that are use to eating at a certain time? Do what ever fits best in your schedule.

Regardless of the time of the year, we like to eat dinner between 5:00 and 6:00. We rarely stay out much after the Night Time shows and it is more common for us to head back to our resort at 9:00 or so. So we would feel terrible if we ate a big meal much later that 6:00 (I always seem to end up with heartburn at WDW even when I don't eat late). We actually prefer to only eat two meals each day. Either we skip breakfast and then have a decent sized lunch and then maybe just get a snack for dinner, or we eat a big breakfast as a special treat on vacation skip lunch and then get something smaller for dinner.

We eat pretty early at WDW, usually between 4:30-5:30. We don't take breaks at the resort during the day and after an afternoon walking in that heat we definitely look forward to an hour or more in air conditioning. I also find the portions huge and stuff myself so I don't want to eat to close to bed and will grab a snack later if we're hungry.

We are early risers and have something for breakfast around 6:30 so we are ready for lunch around 11:30. Dinner for us at home is around 5 so dinner in Disney is around 5. I like eating at that time as the restaurants are just opening for dinner, servers are fresh, and virtually no wait time to be seated. It all depends on what you are used to.
