We have booked our meals for August and wondering if we have booked the best times for getting decent tables/characters etc.

Does anyone have any advice on the best times to eat at these places?

We have booked:

Auberge for 12noon on the Tuesday. We ate here at 12noon in Feb, and were the first ones in, we were there 15mins before it opened. We would like to be one of the first in to get a seat by the fireplace again.

Inventions for 6:30pm on the Wednesday evening.

Café Mickey for 2pm on Thursday - we'll have to change this I think as it is only open til 2:30pm for lunch?

Cowboy Cookout for 11:30am (opening) on Friday - figuring by the time we get seated and served it will be 12ish. Is there a best place to request to be seated, as I know people have said characters aren't so organised here?

Thanks guys!

think the characters at cafe mickey r only out til 3??? we normally go for 12 as we r one of the first few seated, and when we were there, by 1pm it was gettin real busy.... up til then we had good interaction and characters came round twice!!

also - we had 6 out at one time, which is def different for us - as normally when weve been its been 3, then they go, and then another 3, then back to the original 3....

cant help on the others but wud have thought those were ok - as i think i read its busy at cc??

I would think the queue at Auberge will be quite long in summer - our last trip we arrived 15 mins before and the queue was already passed the little wall area! We have sat on the dancefloor a few times before so I wasn't too fussed but lo and behold we were given a table there anyway which was nice :). Perhaps hang around the area outside a bit before that (go on carousel etc) and if it looks like the queue is building up then jump in.

CBCO - you find your own table here. We had a table on the right hand side as you went in (on the band side) which seemed to be better as the characters seemed more over that side for quite a while. But again it wasn't very busy when we first went in at 11.50 am. Our table was quite far down nearer the back of the restaurant but it didn't stop the characters coming to us :confused3. I didn't want to be near the front as you are near the band and they are quite loud!!

Yes, I would change your Cafe Mickey reservation. Our last visit we went at 1.45 pm. We've always gone for opening 12 noon, before this trip but as it was our last day we wanted to go a bit later. I think the characters stop around 3 pm? So, you want to give yourselves a bit more time I think. What I will say is that it was really busy at the later time as opposed to going earlier. We only ordered pizzas/garlic breads so food came quite quickly. I think we arrived at a character change over but those we saw leaving as we arrived came out again just before we left which was great as we then saw the whole repertoire!

Inventions seems fine - it will probably be a little more quiet then as we have always gone at that time before and found it quiet to start. This time it was 7.45 pm that I booked and it was busier but didn't cause any issues, apart from a small queue to get in which took about 5 minutes to get through!

PS - Hope your hand is a lot better now x

I think they all look fine apart from cafe mickey. I would make that one a bit earlier so you have a bit more time to meet all the characters. :goodvibes

Thanks guys - will change Cafe Mickey and one of us will get in the queue early for Auberge, I want a good seat for Rosebug to see the dancing etc.! :thumbsup2

DLPDreams - hand is fine, totally healed apart from a very sore thumb (huge blisters) and my fingerprint doesn't work at school anymore (for my dinner account and photocopying account!) :confused3 But all good! What a dafty!

I'm thinking I need to book some meals now! Should I go for the Inventions Sunday Brunch, or would a late lunch at Walts be better?

I also want to go to the Steakhouse one evening, we're only there four nights and DH is adamant he doesn't really want to book anything (he's still sore at sitting through Fantasmic in the rain because I'd booked the package:rolleyes1) but i NEED to plan:rotfl2:

Great choices Rosebug, I'm starting to think about ours now ..... and trying very hard to stop myself booking Walt's as I'm determined to eat in new restaurants this time.

That's a tough one - Walt's is my favourite restaurant yet Inventions is my favourite character one! If it were me I'd be ditching the Steakhouse and then I'd be able to go to Inventions and Walt's!

I'm hoping to book Inventions Sunday Brunch too but am hanging on until nearer the time as I'm sure I read that Vala recently posted they are changing the themes again so only know about 4 weeks in advance. I'm hoping for the Hawaiian theme with Lilo and Stitch.

DS(12) would love it to be Stitch! DH is not so about the characters and would rather do Steakhouse:rolleyes2 We have 4 nights, but might do Paris one day, and I'm not sure what time we'll arrive on Saturday as we're driving up from th Vendee region.
