Last week of April stay or first week of May stay? Which is better. I have read cheerleaders can be there end of April and just wondering how crowds are typically. Would for sure be going after Easter any and all advice welcome thanks!

As long as you're at least a full week past Easter, both of those weeks would typically be good crowd wise. Unless there's a really late Easter, they're going to be about the same.

Of course, pretty much all the standard wisdom about crowd levels has been turned on it's head since WDW reopened, so who knows?

I'd pick the week that works better for your schedule, has better flights, or the like and go from there.

I would agree that both of those weeks should have similar crowds so go when is best for you.

We visited that time of year in 2019 and it was a great trip with perfect weather!!

If you're talking about 2023, the last week of April is no where near Easter since it's 4/9/23. The cheerleading comps do not effect crowds that much. You may see more clusters of them around the all star hotels since many of them will stay there but they are strewn throughout resorts. We missed them this year but last year there were a few at Swan/Dolphin and overall, very minor impact to crowds. I don't really see a huge difference in either week and I'd pick what works best for your schedule.

I've done May 7 through 12, and this year I did April 22-30?
There are too many confounding variables for me to say if one was better than the other.

That last week in April is school vacation week for NH, so I was literally in the same hotel as at least 2 or 3 other families that I knew (seriously I think half my town was in WDW this April vacation). But this year was also the first year that people really traveled....and I will say the crowds were weird. The wait times for most of the rides weren't terrible (except the e-tickets) but all you saw in the walkways were throngs of people. I'm sure that dining not being at 100% plus fewer character meet and greets plus fewer people eaters played a factor.

Unless you're staying at the same place as cheerleaders, they don't impact your park experience.
