Best Time Slot for Golden Eagle Excursion

Does anyone know which time is the best to take the Golden Eagle Catamaran excursion? The choices are 7:45am or 1pm. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

We did the Golden Eagle on the Eastern for Halloween '01 so based on your timer, I think the timeframe for weather is somewhat similar. But, I think the times have changed since we went as I recall a 0930 showtime.

I think the weather may be a bit warmer in the afternoon and the party atmosphere a bit more active in the afternoon. I liked going earlier in the day as we are early risers and tend to fade in the afternoon.

We had a GREAT time............the crew was fun and really thoughtful. I definitely recommend bringing warm/dry clothes in ziplocs as you do get soaked on the front of the catamaran and our clothes remained dry while other folks didn't fare as well.

Tina, I just reserved the morning slot. I wasn't thinking that it would be warmer in the afternoon! Duh! I just may have to re-book!

When we went, my brother and his family did the morning slot. The weather was warm, even early in the morning, but got pretty hot in the afternoon. The nice thing about going early is that you have time to come back, have lunch, and then do a bit of shopping or see St. Thomas on your own. HTH

Yup, Lisa, that was my thinking too! Glad to hear the weather may be warm enough. Either way, I know we'll have a great time (but I do hate cold water! )

We went on the Golden Eagle Catamaran excursion in the afternoon. We spent the morning at Great Bay Beach, had lunch on the Magic and then went on the excursion. This worked well for us. You do get soaked on the boat ride to the island, and we got pretty cold (but the boat ride was a blast! ) In addition, the crew serves drinks and sandwiches after the snorkeling (I highly recommend the rum punch!). I don't know if I would have enjoyed the rum punch and champagne as much in the morning.

I think you will have fun at either time!
