So our vague wedding date came about because we originally wanted to do a Memories wedding and wanted to get in on that before it ended. So... it was going to be April 2012.
But we have since changed our minds and are doing Escape... not under a deadline anymore.
So I started thinking maybe I would change back to my idea of a fall wedding (before I had decided to do disney) in September 2012.

So... which time of year do you think is best? And which of those times would Florida be cooler? I am from Minnesota and... honestly am not a fan of anything above 80 degrees, but i can deal. oh and the crowds, which of those times is less crowded?

I believe September offers lighter crowds due to school term time.

September is hurricane season for Florida and temperatures are still generally very high, on average high 80's with lows in the 70's. In April the highest temperates are closer to the low 80's with lows near the low 60's/high 50's.

Basically in September you're going to get smaller crowds but higher temperatures and in April you're going to have higher crowds but lower temperatures.

If you want more of a "fall" wedding, could you do October or November? Early November, I think, might be best for you--- the Halloween/fall decorations will PROBABLY still be up, and crowds and temperatures aren't horrific.

the first two weeks of january are also in the value season for resorts so its the cheapest your guests will get to stay. Temps can range anywhere from the 50s and up though. crowds arent that heavy as well. we are doing ours jan 6 2012

Here is a great website that gives a month by month breakdown of crowds, costs, weather, etc.

I live in fl. I got engaged march 19 this year and am getting married 9/24 this year at 10 am. Yes, it's hurricane season, but Orlando is inland so it really just gets rain and wind, the hurricanes don't really go through there. It does rain often but not usually until the afternoon. Really, it can rain at any time of year there. I always go to Disney after labor day and it's great. Few crowds and it's a lot easier to get into restaurants. I've had no problem booking dining for 20-30 people and I just this week booked Italy isola for a dessert party. I also did it because hotels are cheapest then. It will be hot but frankly it's been over 90 degrees in Florida since march.

I say have your wedding during your favorite time of year and everything else will fall into place.

kharmagirl, I"m glad you mentioned about the hurricaines. I'm getting married on 9/19 and started freaking about hurricanes, bc Beaute Speciale has something in their contract about not going if there is a hurricane, and Idk what i would do without hair and makeup. I"m just hoping for the best.

thanks! my goodness there are so many things to think about when it comes to disney....
crowds, weather, which celebration is going on, etc...

September is still really, really hot here in FL. It doesn't cool off until Oct/Nov. April is pretty nice but towards the end of April it gets hot. We go every year in March and that is the nicest weather (IMO) and crowds are manageable. Just avoid the Easter rush (you'll be able to look up blockout dates to see when there will be peak crowds).

September weather in FL and still be sticky and hot as its still hurricane season. I also vote for October/November as the best time to visit Disney. You'll either be there for the Christmas or Halloween decorations and the weather is great. We've been in November and the weather was around 80 during the day and in the 60's at night, and it wasn't humid at all. Perfect weather. The crowds are also really low in October and November, too.

We visited WDW in September last year to check out the temperatures for our wedding and it was way too humid for us. So we chose 1st November and a morning ceremony time to keep us cooler :)

i think the best time would be the week after thanksgiving. The crowds are low, the temps are great and the Christmas decorations are all up. that would be my recommendation.

We got married this past April, and the weather was perfect. I'm glad we chose that time of year!

alright... so after yesterday's heat and the Excessive Heat Warning that was in effect for my county, we decided to push back to fall. Probably October.

the temperatures look to be about the same for April and October... BUT the big difference is what our bodies will be used to at the time. Like... it was still snowing in April here and it would be a big miserable shock to our bodies to go from that to mid-80's. And in the fall, we will have already gotten used to the heat from the summer and it will just be cooling down so Florida's mid-80's temps will not be as much of a misery for us.

does that make sense to anyone besides me?

(BTW, if you were wondering... the excessive heat warning was because it got into the 90s. it's supposed to get to 100 today! The hottest since the 1980's!)

I vote for April, but then again I'm biased! :)

We had our VR this past April 13th (which is also our actual anniversary date). The weather was absolutely perfect (high 70s/low 80s and the humidity was mild).

And actually the crowds weren't that bad either, I was concerned that it might be very crowded due to Spring break and all but it really wasn't bad.

I vote for late Oct/November!

We're from Southern Ontraio, Canada (Toronto), so our temps are quite similar to yours, maybe not QUITE as cold in the winter, but similar! We went in early Oct a few years back, and it was still a bit warm/sticky for us. The next year we went down in the 1st week of December and it was perfect.

Good luck!

From what you all are saying, I'm gonna have one hell of a time lol. My wedding is July 1, 2012 but because of the heat is one reason we are doing everything indoors. I just hope for the best!

We are getting married end of September. We decided on September mostly because it was one of the only times my fiance could get the time off work easily. As it turns out it's been a good choice so far; prices are good for rooms, flights, etc. Crowds will be light and hopefully it won't be too too hot. We're at the end of the month, so maybe it'll be a little cooler than if we'd pick the first or second week.
