Best Time of year for Vero Beach?

You will have a nice time. Here's a link to a brief little TR I did. It might have other info you may find handy.

Thanks for the link. It sounds like you had a great time, despite the sunburns and the spider incident. :scared1:

Do you think it's necessary to have ADR's for Shutters? We're going to be at Vero for 3 nights and we will probably eat at Shutter's twice, but I don't know which nights we'll feel like eating out and which night we might want to eat in the villa.

How far is Publix from the resort? We'll want to get some food for breakfast and maybe lunch/dinner. I also read somewhere to buy beach chairs there vs renting them at the resort. :confused3

We haven't done Universal yet. I'm dying to see all of the HP stuff, but our youngest is 6 and only big enough for one of the three HP rides, so we're going to wait a year or two.

But we are going to surprise the kids with one day at MK after we leave Vero. :cool1:

ADRs aren't necessary. And though they don't advertise it you can ask for carry out instead of room service or eating in the dining room. Then take it back to the room or out to the pool gazebo or over to the lake, etc.

Though we have our own beach setup now, we purchased chairs and umbrella once from the Walmart. Not the best quality, but it will last your stay and a couple others that you gift them onto and they pay it forward. The Publix is about 10 mins away. The Walmart about 15. There is also a liquor store in the publix shopping center (in case it matters). When you check in they will give you a map of the area with these and more points of interest indicated. Have a great time :)

Publix is a 10-12 minute ride (about 5 miles) from the resort. Just cross back over the bridge and turn right on US1, go about 2 miles and Publix will be on left at Barber Street (there's a SunTrust Bank and Walgreens at the intersection).
