I was wondering if anyone has an opinion on the best time of year to cruise? We typically like to travel in September/October, but I'm hearing some bad things about the weather at that time of year.

According to the responses to a question similar to this a couple of weeks ago, May seems to be a popular month...

We typically travel September/October every year and we always end up in Florida taking a cruise or at Disney World and have never had a problem. Even with all of the hurricanes last year we were not afftected. Just make sure that you purchase travel insurance. Also, September/October are the most reasonable times to cruise. There is always the possiblility of something happening regardless of what time of year you go. Good luck on your travels.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl: Thank goodness every year wasn't like last year but for cruising is Sept/Oct you just gotta be flexible. You have a higher probability of not making it to scheduled port than most of the rest of the year (all though you may do your scheduled itenerary anytime of the year).

We like January/February because the weather is somewhat more predictable in the caribbean and is very nice. At home the weather then is 100% predictable and it sucks!!

Well we went just this past Nov 7 on the Wonder and we had awesome weather and a minor rock the last night in the middle of night, did not even wake me.
We also went in Nov in the 1987 and was just fine.
I or We like Nov. :cool1:

We're going to try the beginning of September 2006. I've heard good things, hurricanes aside, and the rates can't be beat! I still have to purchase my cruise insurance though.

How does it work with trip insurance? If for some reason the ship can't sail, do you get to rebook at another time or just get your $ back. Does the ship ever just leave a day late (I'm thinking of hurricanes scenerios, I guess)? If so, does it return on the scheduled day or a day late. Sorry for the basic questions, but I really need a trip insurance for dummies course, not to mention a cruising for dummies course.
