Best Time Of The Year To Go For Couples

Okay,so I have to say that I love these boards. I'm a Disney pro. At least with families. Well, on our next trip, our son will be 19. He will be in college and not interested in doing Disney with us. He's already told us that he's out.

So, our favorite times of the year are: January, September and March. Not necessarily in that order.

We have done it as a family,but are relatively new to doing Disney as a couple. So, my question is this. What time of the year is your favorite time to go to Disney as a couple?

We are partial to September because it's my birthday month, but we like January because the weather is nice and the crowds are lower.

September is my first choice! I go towards the end and never find the heat to be bothersome. I also time it to go to MNSSHP because I'm still a big kid and I love Halloween. I also enjoy the loooooow crowd levels in September and value rates at the resorts.

December comes in as my second favorite time. I love Christmastime at Disney but trying to plan around crowds is a little hit or miss. One year I went early December and crowds were great, next time they were horrible. The third time, we went the week before Christmas and crowds were manageable. The weather in December is typically very mild which is another tick in my book.

January/February would be my least favorite time since many rides schedule for refurb. I like to ride my favorites when I go and never want to miss out.

I prefer the 3rd week of November (nice temps, low crowds, Christmas party, decorations, Osborne lights), the last week of October (nice temps, low crowds, MNSSHP), and April as long as it's not the week before or after Easter (medium crowds, flower and booze festival, usually warm but not horridly hot/humid yet). I usually rotate between those months to see different things.

When money is an issue I brave the heat and go in September for the value rates, but I really hate the heat that time of the year.

For me, it would be from the end of Septeber to the beginning of November. You can go to the Food and Wine festival, hich is definitely more fun for adults. I suggest going to EPCOT early during the weekdays you are there, and other parks during the evening and on the weekends, since it's a huge draw for locals after work.

IMHO, Try doing something different:
Go during the first two weeks of Dec. After the Thanksgiving rush and before the kids get out of school.
The parks and resorts are all made up for the holidays. Some of the most festive time of the year to be at WDW.
DW and I have been every year since '93 during this time period.
Some things to do:
Walking tour of the Boardwalk area resorts: Swan, Dolphin, BW, BC & YC all in one afternoon stroll
Monorail tour of resorts: Poly, GF, CR
Candlelight Processional at EPCOT
Osbourne Family of Lights at MGM
One off-site location you might want to consider is over at Gaylord Palms Resort has ICE! It is several freezing rooms full of ice sculptures; you are given a heavy coat to wear and hot coffee/chocolate afterwards.

I also recommend during Food & Wine. Pick a week where crowds are low and enjoy all the food and adult beverages!

Any time from late Sept to the 3rd week in Nov are great. Enjoy your trip

I enjoy January/February and have an upcoming trip to WDW scheduled for that time. However, our second option was to go during Food & Wine Festival - this is something we will definitely be doing next time - and hits right in the low crowd & discount resort season (Sept 19-Nov 10, 2014).

Just a fair warning about March, there are Springbreakers galore with some of the hotels filling up with loud teens & college students. I have been in march several times and it really can get Also, the temperature is erratic during this time, we went days with 80deg only to get to MK with a low 50s - I had to dress my cousin in my own sweaters (she was 5 at the time) since we weren't expecting temps to drop that low!

Anytime you go, though, it will be absolutely magical!

I love October for food and wine, and MNSSHP and it's not too cold to lay by the pool. Early December would be second choice for the Christmas decorations which are absolutely stunning, though it runs the chance of being cold (as it was when I went Dec 2010, made me wish I was back in Jersey)

It was always quiet...

We're going in the end of November 2014 (near thanksgiving and apparently it is a very busy time) and the end of april 2015 (two weeks after Easter... so we'll see how it goes).

I must say I love going in October because that's when we celebrate our anniversary... also there is Food & Wine Festival and the weather is great. April has nice weather too. May is a bit warm for our taste.

So I've only been in off times, but we have a wedding in FL the last week in March. I've seen
The crowd calendar for 2015...it's a 8-9 for our week, we planned to hit up, prior to heading home after the wedding. We've been spoiled with little crowds when we go, because I'm a smart Dis Nerd.

My question is, if I'm dropping a couple thousand on a trip we only do every 1.5 to 3 years, will I be bummed by this trip? I'm debating whether to go or not. The crowds have me nervous.

I've been to WDW during the week after Thanksgiving/early December and it's great. A lot like in January with the lower crowds and the park is filled with Christmas decorations too. Probably my favorite time of the year to go.

Good to know. I remember a decade or two ago my family went to EPCOT on Easter Sunday and it was so peaceful and not crowded. Curious that Thanksgiving Day is so packed. Everyone getting Turkey Legs too that day I bet.

We have been to wdw in july (never again!), September(too hot and crowded), October 3 times: It was less crowded but we hit it at a very hot time, in the 90's and humid! Thought I was gonna melt I've been in December 2 weeks before Christmas, and I think this is the best time to go for us! We love the Christmas atmosphere and the weather is mild, crowds are low, just love it We've been in November once 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and loved it too! Soooo, I guess our favorite times are November or December. We are going this November the week before Thanksgiving with kids/ grand/kids, so it will be crowded. We are thinking of January or Feb, or even March next year. Let us know how you like that time of year, please

Anytime school is in session. We love October for food and wine. If you avoid school breaks you should be fine. We go between October and late March mid April.
