Best time of the year for a Disney cruise?

Technically, I would say anytime is good considering the alternative is staying at home and going to work. :earsboy:

Minus the smarm, I would say spring or early fall based on weather possibilities. With winter cruises, you do run the risk of the water being just a smidge too chilly for swimming at CC (for example). Likewise, the humidity in the summer can makes thing a little uncomfortable at some ports. Late fall does run you a chance of potential impact during storm season (even if it's just more chop and a possible re-route). Spring is also a better time especially for reduced winds (so you can dock at CC) and lesser rain.

Oh good to know! We’re actually just thinking about doing going end of May, which I’m assuming would be a great time based on what you said? The weather would be warm without being as hot and humid as it gets in summer but yet before hurricane season.

I have moved your post from the Trip Reports Board to the main Cruise Board.

To answer your question, choosing a 'best time" can be subjective. If you love the Holidays, maybe a Merry Time Cruise. If you like it hot, the summer is great. If you don't like it too hot, not in the summer is better. ;) If price is important, times like Sept or Jan can be lower priced. It sort of depends what you are looking for and when you can sail.

We always choose by when it fits our schedules. Working in a school I'm pretty much limited to summer and a few weeks throughout the year. For summer we go mid/late August based on pricing being less then. I see you mentioned May above, I think that is a great time for weather, and pricing might not be too high like the height of the summer.

Agree with the PP's that it really depends on what you prefer. We enjoy a January/early February cruise. For those up north it's a great break from the winter. It's also a good time to get lower rates than during typical vacation periods. Another good choice is late fall. Yes, people can worry about hurricane threats then, but it's really not a big issue.

May is a very good month in general, IMHO. Especially once you get away from the heat/humidity inland/on the coast. But, as has been pointed out, the cost may be impacted.

IMO, November thru March. After March it starts to get HOT 😰. If headed north you could stretch into June. The rest of the time is hurricane/tropical storm territory. We just cruised to Cayman/Cozumel in late September = burning hot and scared silly with thunder storm directly overhead.
