Just wonder if there is a better time to schedule this trip i.e. morning or afternoon and would appreciate hearing benefits or otherwise for both from people who have done them.
I was originally thinking first thing in the morning then I thought perhaps afternoon and then go straigh back on board. Confused. :rotfl:

I would do it first thing in the morning. Then if you want to shop or explore more of the island you will know how much time you have left

We did ours first thing in the morning (the earliest that Disney offers) on our Jan. 29, 2005 cruise. My sister said morning was best because the stingrays are really hungry in the morning...great

It worked out best for us this way because then we were able to shop all afternoon, or head back to the ship...we didn't feel like we had to stop what we were doing to make it to an excursion.

Good luck and enjoy...it's a BLAST!!!

Thank you for your help. I originally thought Morning then again had another thought that perhaps we could shop in morning and go in afternoon but what you say makes absolute sense to me. If we go in the morning what would you recommend to do in the afternoon and is it easy to walk from the dock to the town please.

Thank you so much

Hi Skallywag!

Are you planning on doing a DCL excursion? We are doing a morning stingray excursion with Capt. Marvin - and I think a couple other families from our meet thread are also going with Capt. Marvin. It would be fun to do it with a bunch of DISers! :flower: :sunny: :goodvibes

Hi pdarrah,

Was not thinking of doing the Disney one but hve been recommended the Soto's one but have not booked yet. Would be great to go as a group I agree. Have you booked yet? I cant wait to get into that warm water as here in England we are going through very cold spell with the wind coming straight from Siberia so they tell us and I believe them.

Hi Skallywag - Yes, I have actually booked excursions for October (I'm clearly crazy!). We had booked with Capt. Marvin last year and then were unable to go to Grand Cayman due to hurricane Ivan. Capt. Marvin was great about communicating with us and canceling our reservation. I like that they only take my credit card number to hold the reservation and don't charge anything until you get there. (They would only charge your card if the ship arrived on time and you just didn't show up.)

Edit: Oh yes - it is 29 degrees here (Farenheit) and overcast near Chicago. We are also getting occasional snow flurries. Our really cold weather (-20 stuff) usually comes from Canada.
