I am trying to figure out the best deal for upgrading a ticket from UCT to a DVC AP, and would love if someon can check my math 
6 day MYW Hopper $307.95
6 day MYW Hopper Gate Price w/tax $356.77
DVC AP w/tax $452.62
Total cost of DVC AP (UCT price + diff between gate price and AP w/tax price) $403.80
6 day MYW No Expiration $397.95
6 day MYW No Expiration Gate Price w/tax $471.80
DVC AP w/tax $452.62
Total cost of DVC AP $397.95
I know that Disney's written rule is to not give the difference in price back to the guest if the ticket value is more, however some guests reported receiving the amount back, so depending on the CM the ticket may even be $19 cheaper. Regardless with factoring in not getting money back the 2nd option is still cheaper, correct? Or am I missing something?
