Best thing I ate at Disneyland

We have a thread for the worst things we've eaten, how about one for the best?

We had a lot of meals at DLR and CA with our 5 day trip this past week. The best thing I had on the trip was the chopped brisket salad at Hungry Bear BBQ. I was kinda shocked at how much I liked it and as a Texan, I'm very particular on my brisket. It was great. It was so hot that I didn't want a sandwich or anything fried. The quarter slice of corn on the cob was suprisingly a great add on as I didn't think I would like a cooled piece of corn. The dressing mixed well with everything. We always make the joke of "either I'm just really hungry or this is a really good meal". It was the best food we had in the parks.

The best out of the parks meal was the Eggplant Alla Parmigiana at Naples. That was a home run meal.

I've had so many great meals at Disneyland, it's hard to choose the best! But...

For sweets, the 60th anniversary cupcake. I don't know how they made a cupcake so delicious lol. Runner up is the vegan creme brulee I had at the Blue Bayou.

For an entree, the Plaza Inn fried chicken.

PS...I love all the character meals and usually those are the best meals because of the variety and fresh fruits and vegetables. The Ariel breakfast was especially wonderful.
:)

It's hard to say. There are a lot of things I really like at DLR, but the best is probably something sweet. I had a great churro from the HM cart once - I don't remember the exact theme, but it had white chocolate on it. Also, I did the RBT Fantasmic! package once, and while the meal was okay, the Maleficent Dragon desert was superb! It looked like this (not my picture):

So, not only was it beautiful, it was delicious, with a semi-sweet chocolate and a little spicy chili flavor at the bottom. In fact, at RBT, the meal was probably sweeter than the desert! I swear I've never had such sweet beans - and I live in the South! It's like they thing that we just put a pound of sugar in everything...well, we kind of do, but there is a balance to be had. 🤣

My kids loved that dessert when we did the Fantasmic package. I think it's the coolest one they've ever had. When we went the only non chocolate option was vanilla custard with bacon sprinkles so I had that. It was weird lol. I really wanted a dragon!

Yeah, it's a shame that they got rid of it. It really made the entire meal worthwhile.

I really enjoyed this too. We had the Cafe Orleans package this past trip and the dessert wasn't as good but did have some fun white chocolate Sorcerer Mickey cookies. The gumbo was really good though.

Quesabirria at Centrico DTD
Porkbelly skewer Bengal BBQ DL
Western style Loaded Potato Studio Catering Co. DCA

For me it's the quesabirria tacos at Cocina Cucamonga. They are so good, sometimes I day dream about them 🤣

I think that was actually on someone's list for the worst foods, so it goes to show you how it can sometimes be a matter of preference and taste. I also recently discovered that I really love the Red Wagon corn dogs. I didn't get sick from the two times I had them on my last trip...but maybe I have a strong stomach? 😁

Carthay Circle had a mushroom ravioli in brown butter sauce that was excellent. It was not something I would usually order but I decided to take a chance. A long time ago I use to love the spaghetti at the old Plaza Pavilion.

Chocosmash bar was one of our favorite things. Also Churro Toffee!

edit: Oh and for actual food the birria grilled cheese sandwich from Jolly Holiday

We love just the usual beignets and unlike someone on the other thread the mint julep. But our favs would have to be the Dole whip float, crave it till we can go again!!! I love the plaza fried chicken and the clam chowder in a bread bowl. The one thing I miss the most is when they use to have the bbq ranch buffet. Man that was sooooo good!!!

How did I miss out on this Churro Toffee?
I ignored it for years as it looked very meh to me. But after seeing so many people rave about it on the board, I gave it a try and I've never looked back...it's a must-have when I go to DLR! I also love the gingerbread Mickeys.

The pineapple beignets and passion fruit mint julep were both nice seasonal offerings for our trip.

Also, we really enjoyed the banana split churro at Goofy's Sky School.
