Best summer dates/will grad nights interfere?

I am planning a trip to DLR in 2014 (on the way to Hawaii). Yes, I know planning two years ahead may be a bit excessive!

We can travel in either June or July. I was thinking that early June might be less crowded since schools may not be out yet. But then, from what I read here, I also need to consider how AP blackout affect crowds. I am also not sure how grad nights affect park operations. Do the parks close early on those nights?

I will have three full park days and want to make the most of my time. I need advice on the best dates!

That is a long way out.

Since we don't know what is happeing in 2014 we only have a tiny idea of what the AP schedule could look like. You could look at 2013 here. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/passes/blockout-dates/

What really effects this is why should the APs come. Is is simply because it's thier last chance? Or will a new show or attraction be drawing them in?


Grad Nites were changed starting this year to start when DL was about to close, sometimes dropping an hour of normal operations. Next year it will be held in DCA and start when DCA may normally be closing. In 2014 it could be different.

Thanks for the response. As of right now, it looks like grad nights will not significantly shorten the park operating hours.

It really depends on what happens in the parks. 3 years ago APs came to see the new World of Color show. 2 years ago APs came to see the new Soundsational Parade, the reopened Star Tours and new Little Mermaid attractions. This year the new lands in DCA.

Since we don't know what will happen in 2014, we don't know if crowds will come in similiar to the last few years.
