Hi all,
I'm planning my trip for next May. Stayed ot POR last May, but rooms are too small for my group of 6 plus my mother in law. Was looking to upgrade to one of the home away from homes. I'd love to hear your opinions on the different resorts and accomodations.

This board was a huge help last year. Also, do specials ever go out for these resorts?

I would try OKW (Old Key West), in a 2 bedroom. Its a very large room and will feel like a house compared with most rooms on-site.

If it were me, I would get a 2 BR at Wilderness Lodge Villas for us 6, and put my mother-in-law in a studio at the Boardwalk!:D J/K.

I would reccomend all the DVC resorts, as they are all top notch. It realy depends on which fits your particular taste.

LOL!!! I had to show that to DH. I'm planning to bring my folks with us to WDW next year, and DH is a little unsure about spending a week with his MIL. He loved your suggestion!

.

But with Disney transport that still may be too close ;)

My MIL bought into DVC after we took her down to WDW last Ausust....so the next several trips will be with her (although she gets her own room) Better be careful who we invite from now on, huh? ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

We own at the Boardwalk, and love the location.
If space is an issue for you, the layout of Old Key West is the roomiest.
You can't go wrong with any of the choices, they are all fantastic.
If I were choosing, I would pick by theme and location rather than square footage. The few extra feet at OKW is nice, however, are you really going to be in the room that much to notice?
We took a party of 7 to WDW last year and ended up with 2 studios and 1 one bedroom. No one complained about space.
Frankly, at the end of the night we were too tired to care!
Good luck with your planning!

P.S. Given your party size, OKW may be your most comfortable choice. A 2 bedroom at OKW will give you 2 queen size beds, 1 sofa bed and 1 king size bed.
The other resorts have 1 queen size bed, 2 sofa beds and 1 king bed in a 2 bedroom.
My party did not have a problem w/the sofa beds, however, some people on the board complain about their comfort.
