Best Strategy for Pixie Hollow

We were planning on getting my son's first haircut when WDW opened, then swinging by Fantasyland to snag FPs for Peter Pan and then on to the rope drop for Toontown to see the Fairies. I'm starting to get the feeling that those plans are a bit ambitious. Should we move the haircut to later and go right on in to wait for the Toontown rope drop? Fairies are a priority for this family!

:thumbsup2 I would if I were you! Seriously, the line gets long very quickly because the fairies spend several minutes with each family and there are 3 fairies to see! We were at Toontown rope drop and they let us in at 9:45 and it was a mad dash to the tent. Our wait time was 20 minutes and we were about the 4th family in line. Others have commented on how boring the line wait is and they're right. The line hardly moves since only a small group of people are let in at a time. But it's worth it I think. Would I wait 70 minutes to see them, nope. That's how long the wait was after we exited. The Fairies are very popular! On the flip side, the Princess line was very short and last year we waited an hour to see them so go figure! :goodvibes

Does anyone know if Pixie Hollow is open as late as Toontown? How late can you get in to see the faries? Pretty please....with sugar on top?

The line to meet the fairies will generally close 1 hour before Toontown closes. If you are in the line when they close the line, you still get to meet them.

I am trying to get my game plan down for our visit to Pixie Hollow. I am planning on being at Toon Town at rope drope. What I don't know is which day should I do this? We are planning on being in the MK on 3/22 at park opening and also on 3/26 (am EMH). Would it be smarter for me to see the fairies on the regular hours morning or on the am EMH morning?I know Pixie Hollow doesn't open until 10am, so would it make a difference? We are planning to take advantage of the am EMH so we will be there early that day too. Thanks!:)

:goodvibes We'll be there the same dates! We have to take DNiece to see Tink, we'll be there at TT RD on Friday March 27, hope you have great luck!!
(and from the posts on this thread, thinking I'll take DH to Pixie Hollow, he's awesome w/helping to keep our place in line! :rotfl2: )

We didn't get to see the Fairies during our trip. We arrived at 9:50 and the line was already 90 minutes. The princess line was 15 minutes. This was a recommended day by TGM and UG. the kids didn't want to wait :worship: . they like getting the autographs but like doing rides more than waiting.

For anyone JUST BACK from WDW,what is the CURRENT status of the Toontown Train Station Rope Drop, opening time of the Toontown Train Station and opening time of the Tomorrowland To Toontown Trail(I made up that name;) )?

As has already been posted, in this thread,

Trains will not start dropping off in Toontown until 10, and the Tomorrowland walkway doesn't open until 9:45 (at the Tomorrowland end), so either of these options would be slower than going through the main Toontown entrance.

As has already been posted, in this thread,
Thanks for the update!:) The last firsthand report I saw was from February 10.From that report, the Guests were able to access the Tomorrowland to Toontown Trail before 9:45 and were already at the Toontown Train Station Rope Drop waiting when the rope was dropped at 9:45.They were therefore ahead of Guests who had waited at the Toontown front entrance Rope Drop. That was what I was planning on doing, but since the Tomorrowland to Toontown Trail opening has been changed to 9:45,the Toontown front entrance rope drop would definitely be quicker. Thanks again for the current status!:)

My kids weren't pushing for this, but we ended up getting to MK late one morning due to one DD being sick -so we went straight to main TT entrance and milled around with 20 or so others beginning at 9:40 am or so. Sent the 2 DDs to ride the teacups while I stood around (I was briefly worried the rope would drop and the girls wouldn't be back, but they made it.) Due to the fact that my girls were 6 and 11 and we had no strollers and were a fairly small group, we managaed to walk quickly but politely up the walkway and into the fairy line as the 4th family in line. We hadn't been the 4th family at the rope and we didn't push or run - we just manuevered well due to no stroller -

My DDs felt sorry for Mickey who was standing and waving outside of his house - beckoning people to visit - but no one did!

I haven't seen anyone post about doing the Pixies at night but I've seen a few people ask questions about it.

We just did this last night. We entered the Pixie line just as the last blast of Wishes went off. The posted time was 45 minutes and our actual wait was 35-40 minutes. The end of the line was where the coloured walls start (pink on the left where the princess line is / green on the right where the fairies line is). We were pretty happy with this length of wait considering the other stories we've heard. This was on a very busy Saturday night at the Magic Kingdom at about 8:15 when we got in line I believe.

I have a question for everyone now... What is the best strategy for going about getting the autographs of the two fairies we don't have when we go back next time. The character handler said that it is entirely "random" and all Fairies don't necessarily show up on a given day. Any ideas here?

I saw a thread a few weeks ago where people discussed WHICH faries they saw when (morning versus later in the day)... I can't find it now. Anyone have a link?

There are conflicting reports as to who shows up in the morning versus the afternoon - so much so, that I believe that the cast member referenced above was correct: the faeriest are entirely random, aside from Tink. Your best bet is to probably check in the morning and ask who is there now, and who will be showing up later in the day.

Sorry, there is no surefire method to see them all.

Thanks, there seemed to be a definite trend when I read the post weeks ago (probablly when it first opened and they had a limited # of people playing the parts)... good to know as things often do at WDW, it's changed!

It wouldn't have impacted wether we went or even WHEN we went, I would just impact which small treat I gave DD that morning (like a temporary tattoo, etc.)

We just got back two weeks ago. We arrived at the tent at 9:15pm with the fairy lines closing at 9:30pm. There was a 75 minute wait, even that late. We opted to skip and get in the princess line, which was only 15 minutes.

Thanks for the update about the evening wait times. I thought it would be better, but guess not. Looks like when we go, I'll send DH and DS's on SM and BTMRR and I'll go and wait for Tink and friends. It's better than sitting and waiting for them. Now at least I have something to do.

I know what you mean I'm on a quest to meet Rosetta, I have the other four, I just need her, but it's so hard to get them all, esp. when you have two children who like meeting the fairies just hate waiting over an hour to do so.
:)

We saw the Fairies on 2/26 it was a 90 minute wait. The night before we checked the line out around 7:00 pm and it was 75 minutes the entire time we were there it always appeared to be at least 60minutes we were in toon town lots bc the goofy coaster is both my dd's favorite.. so we spent about 1/2 of every day at magic kingdom it seems.. we checked the line out daily... picked the day with the 90minute wait bc we had just eaten and pottied and I had activies on hand... we were there in the am.. and saw Iridessa, Fawn and Tink. we checked the line out after seeing the fairies withhopes of seeing diff fairies but the cm's at the head of line could not tell us who was inside and since the lines were always at least 60 mnutes we did not make a second stop on this trip. Def worth it though next time we will see them again with hopes of seeing diff fairies as well....
