I am trying to get my game plan down for our visit to Pixie Hollow. I am planning on being at Toon Town at rope drope. What I don't know is which day should I do this? We are planning on being in the MK on 3/22 at park opening and also on 3/26 (am EMH). Would it be smarter for me to see the fairies on the regular hours morning or on the am EMH morning?I know Pixie Hollow doesn't open until 10am, so would it make a difference? We are planning to take advantage of the am EMH so we will be there early that day too. Thanks!:)

That is the question! :lmao:
I'm honestly not sure how an EMH will impact your wait times. I do know that Pixie Hollow is very commonly opening at 9:45 AM, despite the posted 10:00 AM rope drop. Take this into consideration!

I would avoid rope drop at the Toon Town Sign entrance and go via rail road at 9:30 am or enter thru the Tomorrowland walkway at 9:45 am.

is that on our last trip Fantasyland on an AM EMH day was packed by 9:30 much more so than on a non EMH day the same week. I can't say that it will be the same for Toontown but it seems likely.

Sounds like Pixie Hollow needs a Fast Pass!:cool1: DH is a Tink fan. Gotta get his pic with her.:rotfl:

I'd say go the regular park day, not EMH. We were just at MK last week and were at Toontown for rope drop at 9:40am. They did open it before 10, like about 9:45am. It was madness after that...parents running and dragging their little ones behind them to the fairies line! We got in line politely and a group of 5 kids and a man went right in front of us to meet his wife ahead of us. :sad2: Talk about annoying. If I make it to the line before my hubby, I step out of line until he joins me.

Anyhoo, the wait time wasn't that bad, we were the 4th family in line and waited about 20 minutes. Totally worth it though! It's pretty cool inside and the fairies were fabulous! Very funny and in character. We'll probably see them again when we go back to Disney! :goodvibes

LOL!! My BF is a Tink fan too. He wants to see her. But he isn't going with us on this trip. He said he didn't want to "waste all that money" on Disney.

Ha! His loss! :cool1:

My advise is to buy a trinket or toy to keep DD occupied in the LONG, ETERNAL line. We saw many dads hopping out of line to buy some "entertainment" for their kids. And a snack doesn't hurt either!!:thumbsup2
FYI, we waited 55 minutes in October, and the CM said that was a fairly short wait.

I would avoid rope drop at the Toon Town Sign entrance and go via rail road at 9:30 am or enter thru the Tomorrowland walkway at 9:45 am.

Trains will not start dropping off in Toontown until 10, and the Tomorrowland walkway doesn't open until 9:45 (at the Tomorrowland end), so either of these options would be slower than going through the main Toontown entrance.

We went to MK on a non-EMH morning, but we had an ADR at CP at 8:15, so after we ate, we went outside and the park had just finished Main Street Rope Drop, so I sent DH and the kids to see about some of the rides in Fantasyland and I headed over to ToonTown. I was in the front of the line, after about 20 min. they came back over and decided to wait with me. One of the CMs who escort you down the road noticed my DDs birthday badge, as it was her 12th B-day that day, and he took both DDs by hand and escorted them first into Pixie Hollow. It was wonderful and they spent a few minutes with DDs taking pics and doing autographs. Good Luck in getting in.

Oh my!!!:sad2: DH is going to have to find himself a less popular princess or something to have his crush on!;)

There is always Ariel with her seashells. She is one of my father's favorites!! On his first trip to WDW he had his picture taken with her. He was 63 at the time!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Thanks. That is good info to know!!

Just to echo what everyone has said here, get there at least 30 min before opening. I was the first in line to see the fairies and when I cam back around to take a picture of the entrance (10:15 or so) the wait was already at 45 min.

So, if the family we're travelling with plans to do NO rope drops and most likely won't even arrive close to opening, we might as well forget this?

We have been to Disney several times but the other family has never been, has done no research, and I really think they just don't understand the complexity of it all.

I know my dd5 would love this but I don't want to hurt feelings by going off on our own and telling them to meet us later. I have already been told I have to "take it easy" this time - no EMH, no rope drops, no opening/closing days. Although I'm excited about the trip, I'm also a little aprehensive since we will be a group of 11 and will probably be moving rather slowly around the parks as it is. I'm afraid if my cousin's dh doesn't get to do much, he's going to think it was a waste of his $$ and their 4 kids will never get to go back.

Now understand, I'm not a rope drop every day kind of guy. I don't overplan.

But *no* rope drops? *no* EMHs? No opening or closing days? Sheesh.

You can get lucky I guess, but I've never heard of a Pixie Hollow wait being less than an hour (usually never less than 90 minutes) during the day. Maybe try at a parade time or similar.

As for hurt feelings... why not simply explain that your DD would love to see the fairies, but that the lines get insane quickly - so one given morning, you would like to go at rope drop to ensure that she sees them. You understand that the others don't feel this way, so they are welcome to sleep in, hang around, etc, and you'll gladly meet up with them later.

Sorry, but I fall into the camp of "do right by my kids, and the other folks can stuff it".

My two cents.

Does anyone know how late Tink and the fairies are there? We can't do rope drop due to a BBB reservation, but was considering the evening??

I'm in the camp with t catt. Tell the family that one morning you and DD are going off to meet the fairies. Don't wait for them. Bring a cell phone and tell them to call you when they get to the park. And don't worry about your cousin's DH. Make your DD happy. I'm sure it will bring a tear to your eye to see her smiling face. :thumbsup2

When we go on our trip, I was thinking of seeing Tink in the evening. By evening I am even thinking close to park close. Has anyone seen the line at that point? I figure I have 8 days when we go and I am not leaving until I get my pic with her. Yes I am 40 with a character obession!:rotfl:
