Best Strategy for Blizzard Beach in July?

This is our first time going in July (usually we go mid to late August) and I was wondering what would be the best strategy for BB? BB is open 10 am - 8:30 pm usually we've gone to the waterparks at rope drop and stayed til around 2-3 pm. The dilemma is we will be coming off two busy days HS (Wed) and MK (Thurs) so were hoping to sleep in on our BB day which will be a Fri. I know it's not a good idea to hit the waterparks at noon in the height of summer as I am also aware sometimes they hit capacity. However since BB is open until 8:30 pm would we be better off heading there say around 4 pm (and I know often the risk thunderstorms hitting in the afternoon too so there's that issue too)? Is it better to go at rope drop or wait until later in the day?

It’s really up to you. I think a lot of people rope drop it and then leave in the afternoon. I think going at 4 would give you plenty of time and lower crowds. Just watch the weather.
Another option is to rent a cabana and show up whenever you want. You’re guaranteed seating and shade that way no matter how crowded it is.

We tend to show up later in the day during our summer trips. There was one day it stormed as we were headed to the park. (Probably around 3 pm) The park emptied out. it was great.

a lot of people leave before the afternoon thunderstorm rolls in, so sleeping in and then going and staying until close is a great plan.
