Best strategy for annual pass?

We will be going to WDW for 2 one-week trips - Aug and Feb - and an annual pass seems the way to go cost-wise. We are also planning to invest in the Tables in Wonderland card, as most of the dinners we are eating are table service places listed on the card.

I have heard various strategies for getting the AP slightly cheaper, and I am contemplating buying 10 day passes from undercover tourist, then going to guest relations and exchanging them for AP's and paying the difference. Can I get a TiW card at that same time? Is this a worthwhile cost saver?

1- Not necessarily a 10-day ticket.
Choose the tic with the best savings and a gate price less than the AP.

2- Yes and yes.

The best adult exchange ticket from Undercover Tourist for upgrading to an annual pass is 6 day Park Hopper + Water Park Fun & More, no expiration. Do not use the water park and fun option, use the ticket for at least one park entry and then upgrade, making sure the cast member does a bridge upgrade. The Tables in Wonderland card is great, especially if doing a lot of sitdown meals I always have one.
